Wow! this place has gone downhill. Stopped by for lunch, it was not too busy. We walked in and were not greeted by anyone. Stood at the entrance waiting, finally a female who was on the phone at the back I assume taking to go orders, came up front and while grabbing a menu, said someone will be with you right away. No smile. She didn't tell anyone we were there, and there was no one behind the bar, so no one came. we stood there watching the servers walk past but no one acknowledged us. It wasn't until two more groups came in that another female came from the back room. She came forward with what can only be described as a scowl on her face, asked how many, grabbed a couple of menus and said in an unpleasant voice, to follow her. At that point I wanted just to leave, but we decided to overlook it and sat anyway. On the way to the booth and including the entrance, the place was filthy! the carpet is so full of large spills and stains, covered with straw wrappers, food, and whatever people have dropped, with no effort to pick it up. The floor was stained and littered, I couldn't believe it. On the way to the booth. another booth with the back exposed, was covered in greasy handprints. It was disgusting looking. Our table seemed clean but the flatware we received was not. So we asked for replacements. Our server came right away for drinks and she was friendly, we asked for water with lemon, she even repeated it back, brought water but no lemon, took us another 15 min. and 3 times asking until we finally got the lemon. Boneless wings for app. 3 of the wings were tiny hard pieces no bigger than a nickel, the rest were dry. 1/2 price apps, but still pricey for what you are getting. not plump and fresh like they used to be. Fish was good and crispy, though quite greasy, fries were inedible on both our orders, dried out, hard and tasteless. Riblets were plentiful but dry, almost no sauce and meat was again tasteless, not as good a quality as what we used to get. Salads had brown lettuce, unappetizing. The server was terrible. She would check to ask if we needed something, then never deliver it, had to be hailed repeatedly, still forgetting to bring what we asked for. she disappeared for so long, another table whom she had given their bill complained that they needed to leave. There was another worker, a male wearing a white shirt. I don't know if he was a cook or what. A large man, nothing wrong with that. But, his shirt was filthy, grimy, and too short. He was out on the floor delivering food, drinks, etc. His large, hairy belly was hanging out of the bottom of the filthy shirt and when he came up to the table it was directly at eye level. that was the last straw, I was so disgusted I lost my appetite. Another male employee, was dressed different, in a nice red Applebees polo shirt, we thought maybe he was a manager. If he was, he seemed to be dropping some things off at tables and standing around talking to servers, but would then disappear into the back, so maybe he wasn't. You know what they say, if the dining room is not well maintained and clean, you can bet the kitchen is even worse. I was worried we would get sick. We will never ever go to this Applebees again and will probably not try out other locations either, as the state that this one is allowed to function, must be a reflection of the state of the Company itself. This was not just one day of short staff, busy lunches or filth, It...
Read moreThis was my first time eating at this location due to being from out of town. After a long day me and my niece just wanted a nice sit down meal just the two of us. What we got was anything but!
Our first waitress was ending her shift but greeted us, took our drink orders and let us know they would be right out. And they did by another worker, just not what we asked for.
Our waitress for the night was a girl we will refer to as B-Lashes I understand some people just lack the skills of interacting with other and just don’t have a bubble personality that is welcoming. Not a real people person, totally get it, I do. But this was just the start. I ordered the pick 2 the oriental salad for myself and a steak meal to bring back for my daughter. I guess that wasn’t a simple of enough explanation and after she came back again I pointed to the pictures on the menu to make it easier. Sometimes I’ve not explained things in great detail so I will take the strike for that one. I explained that I would be taking the steak meal to go and if it could be started when our food was delivered.
When my salad arrived there was only about 5 pieces of lettuce and pretty much all of the little crispy noodle things. My niece ordered breadsticks and Alfredo for dipping and they were perfect. Not much to hot breadsticks and warm cheese, but lettuce in a salad is crossing the line.
We were finished I was asked if I would like them to start the steak dinner. I’ll take the strike on that one as well, I should have reminded her when our meals came to start the steak meal. 45 minutes later, still nothing. At this point I am more than over it. I asked the host if anyone could check the status of my order. The only good thing was the steak was cooked to perfection even if it was cold by the time it was brought out. My daughter was pleased and full after we reheated her items.
I was very disappointed in the service we received. Not having the personality to be a people person has to be hard. Especially hard in a job like waitressing. Everyone deserves a chance tho. It’s hard making it these days regardless and we do what we have to do but at the same time you have to put forth an actual effort. And I don’t know maybe if her lashes weren’t in her eyes and in the lash line she may have been able to see the items of the pick 2 I pointed to the first time. Maybe she would have seen that the main ingredient in a salad, lettuce, was absent.
We were never asked if we needed refills, or if we were enjoying everything or if it was fixed to our likings. The sad part is, as we were leaving the gentleman that sit across from us, said he completely understood because his salad was incorrect also. I should have spoke to a manager but never seen one. I should have asked to see them but was so upset I just wanted to get my child’s food to her. I am from out of town so the chances of us returning on our next trip is 100% negative never...
Read moreSuper disappointed evening. My partner and I waited all week to go to applebees to try the unlimited meal option. We arrived at 7 pm. There were a bunch of kids running around unattended (not the restaurant's fault but the parents'), and it was super busy. We understood it would be a wait. We ordered the combo appetizer to split, I ordered the unlimited option, and my boyfriend ordered the garlic steak and shrimp. We waited for about an hour and a half for our food. The waitress apologized and told us the food wasn't rang in as she forgot. I completely understand that accidents happen, though I wish it was addressed sooner. But since it was so busy I thought that was the problem. She told us multiple times that our food was going to come out soon, though, which was strange and frustrating. I'm understanding to serving staff to a fault, and my boyfriend brought up that we should've just left at this point. I was hoping they would make it right, and the night would be turned around. The food came out not too long after being rang in, but by then, we had sat for an hour and forty minutes. I immediately placed my second plate since I didn't want to keep waiting. The appetizer wasn't warm, but we devoured it since we were so hungry. The mozzarella sticks had no cheese pull, the wings were room temp, and the artichoke dip was absolutely microwaved. The quesadilla was the warmest thing and the tastiest. The chicken tenders and fries were average, but the shrimp wasn't crispy, wad super batter like in the center, and one was soggy. My boyfriend's steak was so bland and disappointing, and his mashed potatoes were cold. He didn't finish the plate. We didn't care to complain at this point as they'd likely try to remake the food, and we just wanted to go home. We were both tired from our day and disappointed as is. Nothing was comped on the meal despite the wait time, and the experience was below average, especially for $70+. We won't be returning to this...
