McDonald's — Restaurant in Petoskey

Came through the Drive thru and ordered a quarter pounder meal for my wife, she cannot eat cheese. I assumed a quarter pounder meal did not have cheese and if you wanted cheese you order with cheese. Anyhow they refused to exchange the mistaken ordered burger with cheese. The manager actually said "well did you order it without cheese?" In a condescending way. she offered me fries instead saying it's store policy to not refund or give out burgers and that people are doing this stuff all the time getting free burgers!! Making me feel like I'm some manipulative thief or stealing teenager...been going to this McDonald's location for at least 20-30 years or so..this is a very poor way to do business, and I will not do business here again..throwing away hundreds of dollars or more of future business away for a wrongly ordered quarter pounder and treating a customer like a thief....there are other options and I will tell my close friends and family to do business...

After ten months estranged to my 2 year old son. We abruptly had our reunion in this store. After explaining my situation to the manager (matt) I was welcomed by him and his team wholeheartedly. He complimented first with a drink, then a whole happy meal(decked out for 2),and even an ice cream cone. He would not accept my money. I could not be more greatful for his gratuity.

The best part about this McDonald's is if you go Wednesday-Sunday early in the day and have the opportunity to interact with Steve, AKA the most amazing person! He has a very positive attitude and is a great way to start the day. When so many people in this world are Debbie-Downers and focus on the negative, Steve is a ray of sunshine. Seriously, this man deserves a raise and recognition. He should be the benchmark for employees. Even when things are not going as they should at 6 am, Steve finds a way to spin it so it isn't as big...
