I don't usually leave reviews, but this time I feel people need to know about this. I'm not sure about other locations, but I know that this location at 9142 Roosevelt Blvd., is misleading (if not false advertising) diners about their NEW NEIGHBORHOOD DOUBLE BURGER.
My girlfriend and I visited this location on 1/31/2023. Originally, we were going to order off the 2 for $25 menu but after browsing the rest of the menu, I decided I would get the Neighborhood Double Burger, as I expected it to be more beef than the Classic burger (hence the word DOUBLE); BIG MISTAKE!
When my burger arrived, something just looked "off". When I removed the top bun, I could clearly see that there was only two half-burgers (stacked) on HALF of the bun. When I looked closer, it looks like they took one beef patty and folded it over!
Our server (who was great by the way) informed the manager we had a question. When she arrived, as I started to talk, she stated she already knew what the problem was - as this burger has the "most complaints". Then, she began to tell us that the patties are "kids patties" and this is the way the burger comes; AND if I had READ the menu it says " 3.5 oz patty". For the record, it actually says "Two juicy, all-beef 3.5 oz. patties" NOT a total of 3.5 oz.
By the way, I learned later on, ALL Applebee's burgers are 7 oz., so how is this burger DOUBLE? It would be the same amount as any other burger on their menu!
I informed her the burger was not listed on the kids menu so why were there "kids patties" on this burger. She had no response for this question.
Aside from my Neighborhood Double Burger, everything else we ordered, boneless wings and oriental chicken salad (which barely had any chicken) were part of the 2 for $25. And since my burger was virtually the equivalent of the classic burger in beef, we should have been charged as if it was 2 for $25 not full price ($12.99) for each item. There was no courtesy of removing or even discounting anything, even though this is [again] their most complained about burger. She made us feel as if this was our fault for expecting anything but kids patties.
Also, if this burger gets the most complaints, then why not listen to the customer feedback and make the necessary changes or remove the burger from your menu altogether?
In this age of social media, I would think Applebee's would want to do right by their customers as it would only take one unhappy influencer to make a big impact to their...
Read moreApplebee's. I don't dine out at all. If I do, i go to the Brickhouse. I live down the street from you. I was impressed last night. Clean & stellar presentable bathrooms, comfortable furniture, good size and well lit venue, & felt safe with security. Speedy service, delicious food, great carbonation for draft beer and soda. Food was delicious.
Not complaining about price. Look, I tipped 37% percent last night. I typically tip 30%-%50 when I dine if waitress or waiter earned it.
My waitress she was sweet ... but I arrived after 9pm. Both my $3 domestic pints (Miller Lite) was $4.75. When i asked waitress why that was she had no good explanation other than bartender said so. I asked about 50 cent wings. She had no insight about that advertised NFL promo for the boneless wings. Waitress said she would find an answer and come back. Sure, she came back as i asked for more food items, but never provided me an answer about the 50 cent wings.
I had a really good time. But, I value intergrity. I don't like when things are publically advertised and I'm treated like a jerk because i politely ask why my item doesn't reflect your advertisement even when I met your requirements to be eligible for such discounted deals. I spent $50 last night. Money isn't the issue. I can take my time and money to Dagwoods, Nick's Hot Roast Beef, Maggie's Waterfront Cafe, or the Brickhouse for similar quality or better. I was pretty impressed, I just don't like dishonesty. More pros than cons last night, but those restaurants I mentioned I get friendlier hospitality and great customer care even though i did like my two servers.
I signed up for Applebee's club membership, website feels vague how to use account when dining in. I understand my Applebee's rewards account is not directly affiliated with your location. Didn't hear any mention of membership while dining when I ordered appetizer (I understand if waiters are not supposed to consult customers) I didn't receive email or text about free appetizer supposedly offered to new enrollees via online from Applebee's portal (again, more an app concern than your store). Makes me feel membership is pointless except paying at my table or ordering ahead for pickup. Similar chains already have monitors at table to pay, so using my phone isn't a perk to me.

Read moreThis evening, around 6 PM, I visited Apple Bees' s on Roosevelt boulevard with my partner. We had hoped to enjoy a pleasant dining experience and requested a booth upon arrival. While the staff accommodated our request by providing us with an extra-large booth, we noticed another booth in a different section that would have been suitable for our needs. Moreover, we observed a server actively attending to tables in that area.
When we inquired about relocating to the available booth, we were informed by the manager that it was not possible due to the absence of a server in that section. However, it was evident to us that there was indeed a server present in the vicinity.
Regrettably, this discrepancy in information led to our decision to leave the restaurant. As loyal patrons of Applebee's, we were disheartened by this experience, especially considering our frequent patronage and support for the establishment.
We believe that every guest deserves a consistently high level of service, regardless of the time or day of the week. Adequate staffing and efficient service are crucial components in ensuring customer satisfaction, particularly during peak hours such as the after-work Friday crowd.
I hope that this feedback will be taken into consideration and addressed appropriately. We remain hopeful that our future visits to Applebee's will reflect the exceptional service and hospitality that we have come to expect from your brand.
Thank you for your...
