So if you have literally no where else to go, this place is ok. The service is always horrible. Every server is obviously having issues with substance abuse. It makes you feel uncomfortable and socially awkward. My server on this trip didn't seem to be on drugs however. She was extremely passive aggressive. My partner asked for mashed potatoes and the waitress said ok "sweet potatoes." My partner said no don't you have regular mashed potatoes and she said yeah. But the server gave him mashed and sweet mashed. Then when we told her, she said I don't mishear anything so it wasn't me. Lol. So my partner and I both ordered the turkey meatloaf special. They were out of turkey meatloaf so the server didn't ask us if we wanted anything else and she didn't bring over a menu. She just said the regular meatloaf is really good. So we both felt pressured to just get the regular meatloaf. First, I didn't get my dinner roll, then after I order a soup, my partner asked which soup she liked. Her reply was well the cream of chicken soup (which I just ordered) was disgusting so don't get that. BTW the cream of chicken wasn't bad but it was like a heart attack in a cup. Then my food came out. The side of corn was rock hard and floating in liquid(not butter). Also the menu said sweet potatoes but the menu should actually say "candied sweet potatoes." Just to give you an example of what my corn and sweet potatoes tasted like, think of a cowboy in the middle of nowhere setting up a fire, opening the can of corn and candied sweet potatoes, putting it on the fire to get warm, and just plopping it in a side bowl. The candied part of the sweet potatoes was a mystery. It was very gelatinous(the candied part). And then there was the meat. OH JESUS!! It was most likely 80%fat, it was so oily and gross. So in conclusion the food was disgusting and the server was nasty and passive aggressive. (If you needed a refill she would say oh wow you drink fast and if you don't eat all of your wilted iceberg lettuce that they call a salad, she comments on that too).

And FYI, I of course tipped the server over 20% due to the holiday time and min wage for servers is $2.86, which is disgusting (this whole country is empoverished garbage. Thanks TRUMP!). I just hope the diner sees this to improve their establishment. I know I'll never go back. I had extremely low expectations since it's a diner in South Philly, but what I was served was not food and the server needed an attitude adjustment. Don't go unless you want to poop you whole night...

I am absolutely obsessed with this place, just started going here recently and man am I hooked 😭😭 it helps that I'm also obsessed with breakfast. As someone who's lived in Philly my whole life I'm disappointed in myself for not knowing about the food here. I started going to doctors nearby and decided to go in. You get to choose where you want to sit and it's not overly crowded. It has somewhat of an older feel due to the decor but that adds to the charm. I've gotten the same waitress the few times I've been here and man is she a charmer , I've never met a waitress who melted my heart. She was very nice and knew when to have a genuine Convo and when to let me enjoy my food. She frequently filled up my coffee mug (a hug bonus for me 😭😭 cause most places I've been to after like the second cup they give the side eye) last time I went I got he Cheesesteak omelette and I highly recommend that!! Pictured below is just the egg combo with hash browns with onions, peppers and provolone. Sausages and some Jewish rye. As well as the Cheeseteak omelette I had mentioned before. Both were delicious, my hash wasn't as hot as I'd like but it wasn't cold either ... Lukewarm I'd say but still just as delicious as one would expect. Overall I'm pleased and I was left satisfied and full. They did an amazing job and the waitress was super attentive, I even go to see a picture of her adorable daughter. Overall very happy!!!!! Definitely my go to diner now!!!!

Coffee: 8/10

Jewish Rye Bread (yes this gets it's own category): ughhh so good 10/10!!!!

Egg breakfast with hash and sausage: 9/10

Rude Rude Rude!... I was there with my cousin for lunch and she ordered the8.99 lunch special. The special came with a cup of soup. When we received the check the 8.99 lunch special was on the check as 11.49. We asked the cashier( also the manager) about the error ( or so we thought) and was advised that there was an upcharge of4.49 for the French onion soup and that with the special it's discounted to 2.00. We advised her that it's not written on the menu or the receipt. She then proceeded to show us where it is written on their checkout screen and how it automatically does the up charge and subsequent discount. I asked her how would someone that does not work here know that, and her response was simply... "Well that's why I am showing you now". We then asked her whether or not she was going to make the correction on the check, and at that point she said it wasn't her fault and that the waitress should've told us ( as if the waitress was an independent contractor not employed by the diner). She then said she would take it off " this time" as if she was doing us a favor. There will not be a next time !! I would rather eat where people treat their customers with respect and own their mistakes as an establishment! Her tone was sarcastic and condescending and was quite annoyed when we asked for her boss'...

I was recently in this amazing place. Everything was absolutely good and the people who work inside so friendly and happy. I can laudly say that I've seen the real America there, a meaningful slice of it after been there. I absolutely suggest this place to everybody: americans and also tourists with a deep soul, all these who want to enjoy a human touch in America. Diners deserve to receive government free taxes, as they are piece of history and identity of this amazing Nation that I love. I will be back in Philly sooner or later and I will surely want to see everybody I've first met there. A song that I've listened when I was there and it will always remind me the place is : Supertramp - goodby stranger
