Review: Cafe Lutecia – A Hidden French Gem in Philly
Tucked away in a quiet corner of Philadelphia, Cafe Lutecia is the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into a cozy Parisian café by accident—and then never want to leave. From the moment I walked in, the warmth of the space and the staff made it clear this was going to be something special.
The service was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. It's the kind of place where the staff remembers your name and your favorite order if you come more than once.
One standout detail that really elevated my visit? The fresh juicer behind the counter. I ordered a glass of fresh-pressed orange juice, and it was nothing short of perfect—vibrant, sweet, and just the right amount of tang. You can taste the difference when something is that fresh.
Whether you're stopping in for a coffee or a light, thoughtfully prepared lunch, Cafe Lutecia delivers on every front. It’s quaint, it's charming, and it’s easily one of Philly’s...
Read moreThe food here is simply phenomenal. I come here very often and it’s consistently great. The Omelettes and sandwiches are amazing. They know how to cook an egg!
You’re in for a treat if they still have pastries or bread pudding (the bread pudding is out of this world - they use their own croissants).
Every Saturday they typically have a special sandwich or something like that - often very good.
Jordan the host / waitress / part of family team and her parents are amazing hosts. It’s always so warm and friendly.
The cafe is well lit. The prices are reasonable. It’s a neighborhood staple that has been around for a long time and gets a lot of regulars. You’ll feel like you’re in a small town in southern France but in the heart of Philadelphia.
They play relaxed level music that doesn’t distract and allows you to talk.
A good place to bring a dog if sitting outside.
Can’t say enough...
Read moreThe owner is RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL ! I was quietly eating lunch with my associate and the waiter kept giving nasty looks to my associate because she had brought her own sandwich because she has major health problems and is super cautious who makes her food. She also ordered cocoa from their cafe as to not be rude and buy nothing. As I was eating, the waiter sneakily told the manager about my associate. The manager SCREAMED at my associate and TOLD HER SHE WAS RUDE FOR BRINGING FOOD EVEN THOUGH SHE HAS HEALTH ISSUES WITH FOOD AND IS EXTRA PRECAUTIOUS. The whole restaurant stopped and stared.
There are ways to talk to customers in a customer related field. DO NOT DISRESPECT customers ESPECIALLY WITH HEALTH RELATED ISSUES. After she screamed, she told us we could stay. I lost all appetite and we left because we value our dignity...
