I was there last night after getting some cat food at Unleashed by Petco and had a mixed experience. It's very well stocked. But the prices are all over the place. Some things were very reasonable whereas others a little high. Still I got what I needed and nobody forced me to buy anything.
Where I had a problem was something that happened as I was leaving. I had just taken my bags out of the cart and I was hesitating leaving. Im one one of those people who's always afraid of leaving stuff, so I double checked. Then I started to leave. Unbeknownst to me I was being watched. Two gentleman were talking at the deli counter, one may have been the manager, and I heard a voice. I turned around and one of them said "That's ok, we'll put it back." So not only were they watching me but they misread the situation. Not only that but I had no intention of putting it back. In fact I said to myself "They'll put it back." If you're reading this you might be wondering what the big deal was. I'll tell you. I felt embarrassed. It was clear that I was bothering them. As if one of them said ,"What the hell is he doing?" I tried to defuse the situation by making a joke. I said ,"Sorry it's my OCD kicking in." They were not amused and had one of them said, "Well take your meds next time, nutjob." I would not have been surprised. Now im aware this is mostly conjecture on my part but I was very uncomfortable. If they had kept their traps shut I was on my way out anyway.
Bottom line, customer service is really important to me. If im down there I might grab an item or two, but I will certainly not go out of way...

in the last year alone, i have bought non-frozen meat i had to return due to it already being spoiled 4 different times. The last time, i was in a line of people at the customer service desk, where we were all returning pork chops that all had gone bad.
i have purchased freezer burnt food numerous times, suggesting that stuff has thawed and been refrozen.
what has caused me to not return to this store any longer, and i hope management is reading this ... THERE WERE ROTTEN ONIONS AND POTATOES in your produce isle. DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG ROOT VEGETABLES HAVE TO SIT OUT TO GO BAD? weeks. this occured the week of 7/27/15.
not to mention we bough Kale that was yellowed and we didn't notice until we got home.

Read moreI generally really like this place and have been shopping here for over three years now. Good selection, okay pricing, and it’s close by. The other day I was in self checkout and I accidentally double scanned an item. I politely asked one of the cashiers if she could take one of the scans off. She stared at me for a few seconds, clearly annoyed, and said, “haha I really wanted to say no” and the two cashiers were laughing and joking about it. I felt like they were picking on me for asking for help. They then said “sorry we’ve had a day.” I had a really bad day, too, and that made it worse. I get that people have bad days, I’ve worked with the general public before, but that doesn’t mean it’s okay to make someone’s day bad just because your day is bad.
