In Philly for work, all I wanted was a decent Philly Cheesesteak. Got here about 10:30. I knew what I wanted, so at the latest I ordered my food at 10:45pm ( it is now going on 11:20pm). Shoot! This sandwhich better be fire! The food service is not quick or in any fashion up to any standards. I think they only cater to the locals first. I would not recommend this place for food after 10pm. A another patron ordered Shrimp Tacos, he got his food in about 6 mins. I waited over 30 mins for mine(so I can only assumed someone lost my order and never said anything). I get it that things happen, but at the least tell the customer of the issue. The food was good, but the wait time for food was the worst. I would not recommend this place unless they can change my mind. Stay away fro this joint. Unless like most places you are a regular, the service is not very good. No appologizes about the wait time to me. I could only say the service was not good. Granted food is very good, service somewhere got lost. Horrible from my view point. Stay away unless you want slow service(internal sistuation but still mot mu problem). All reviews are on a personal experience and me experince suck for the food portion. Drink service was very good. I mean I bartender started my order and took my card, but never came back to check on me. There was another bartender that did a great job on helping me out. So based on my food experience tonight, I would never recommend anyone to come here for food. If you are just drinking, the service is alright. At this point I was just Hangery. No to this spot, one and done and that is it. Find another place to go. Granted, I got here after 10:30pm. I mean, when I say they cater to the regulars, they do, because they asked the reguar that ordered the same Shrimp tacos and got it in about 6mins, took mine over 30 mins to get. So I will take more stars down for that.
DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE NOT A REGULAR WHO DRINKS AND DINES HERE!!!!!!! STAY THE HECK AWAY FROM HERE, I RARELY POST NEGAVTIVE BECAUSE I WANT TO GIVE PLACES THE BEST REVIEW POSSIBLE, BUT YOU CATER TO THOSE WHO ARE THE ," REGULARS". JUST STAY AWAY,!

Read moreThe bar tender was sweet... Food wasn't too good. First, I ordered the short rib grilled cheese because it sounded pretty amazing... Unfortunately, the chef came out to tell me that it takes hours to prepare and wasn't ready (this was at 130p)...so I decided to keep it safe and order the Buffalo Chicken dip. It looked good... but they probably should call it buffalo cream cheese dip with a tad bit of chicken because that's what it was, and I'm not exaggerating... It was a watery mess and I was lucky to have a strand of chicken every so often after hunting for it. At close to $11, there should at least be a whole breast in there and it was probably more like the corner of a breast. Then there's the Mozzarella sticks. Again, they looked good... You know, the square kind with the beer batter... Soggy! ... and the cheese didn't stretch like a well cooked order of moz sticks should. My better half ordered the panko fried chicken sandwich... She didn't care for it, but to be fair, she's beyond picky... So I tried it... The bacon was thick cut and cooked well... However, the chicken was flat on flavor.... but the bread was nice... I ended up eating the chicken with the Buffalo cream cheese dip to balance it out. She also ordered a mimosa... The champagne was completely flat. Anyway, if you are looking for decent American fare, I recommend skipping this place and going to the Wrap Shack a few steps away... just as "divey" but with very good food. The service was very good though (although there were only 3 other people in there besides...
Read moreIn the dim glow of neon signs and the low hum of conversation, the heartbeat of the bar isn't the clinking glasses or the swirling whiskey in tumblers—it’s the quiet, steady rhythm of the barback. In this small, unassuming corner of the city, a masterwork unfolds behind the scenes.
No one sees the silent hero, the unspoken guardian of the evening’s festivities, moving with the precision of a dancer, the strength of an artisan, and the care of a sculptor shaping a masterpiece from marble. Behind the bar, there’s a symphony, and the barback is its conductor, orchestrating the flow of the night with effortless grace.
Glasses never run dry, ice never runs out, and chaos is kept at bay by the barback's unwavering dedication. With a flicker of movement—faster than the eye can track—spills disappear, bottle shelves are restocked, and the bartenders’ hands are never empty. There's a seamlessness to the night, an invisible thread that ties the revelry together, and that thread is woven by the tireless hands of the barback.
They are the pulse beneath the surface, the hidden energy that keeps the night alive, the unassuming soul who ensures the joy of others without ever demanding the spotlight. A barback is not simply an assistant but a cornerstone of the bar’s existence, transforming what could be mere service into an art form, where every small act contributes to the greater magic of the night.
Without the barback, the bar would falter, but with them, it becomes not just a place for drinks—but a sanctuary of perfectly...
