We came in on a Friday evening and it was fairly busy but not overwhelmingly so. All of the staff members were nice but our waitress, Yuli, was so awesome. She was cheerful, polite, and so helpful. We asked if they offered omakase, but they aren’t specifically an omakase restaurant, so she ended up accommodating us in a different way. She surprised us with different dishes one at a time and just asked if we wanted another surprise one to come out or if we were done. Some things we tried were the shumai, different rolls (one with kiwi!), and even a crispy rice with tuna tartare kind of dish. While we didn’t totally love everything (the nachos for example), it was a nice way to try things we haven’t had before! The restaurant is nice and chill, the food is good, but the experience was that much better because of Yuli! Thank you!

Prior to Covid, Doma was my favorite sushi spot in Fairmount. Tonight, we opted to dine in because the online ordering option added an automatic 20% tip on take out (was an extra $15 for us).

Some of my usual order items were good, such as the fried pork dumplings, small salad, naked tuna roll, and hot stone beef bowl. But the soft shell crab appetizer and our crunchy spicy tuna roll were fishy.

The main issue is that the restaurant isn’t prepared for dine in guests yet. The restaurant was dirty (floor needs a good scrub) and the guests at the table next to us allowed their child to have free reign of the restaurant, picking up and dropping toys loudly on the floor, and walking over to our table multiple times and getting close enough to touch our table. The restaurant allowed this disruption without asking the table to be considerate of other guests. It was a...

Salmon teriyaki was nice. Salmon was broiled well, still a little moist and not dry, so that was nice. The sauce was a little too sweet but the salmon itself was not too sweet. The miso soup was also nice, not too salty like at some sushi restaurants. One other thing I will say about the food is there was a cooked caterpillar fella -- see photo -- in one of the edamame, that almost got in my mouth 🤣 by pure chance I noticed him 🤣 I was initially grossed out but he was dead and cooked so it was not too bad and so I started finding it amusing 🤣 anyway he was inside the pea so I don't blame the restaurant.

On pickup time, they were probably 10 minutes late (30 minutes instead of 20 minutes after order), but it was fine....
