I recently had the pleasure of dining at King of Tandoor & Biryani House, and it was a delightful culinary journey to this Indian restaurant truly lives up to its name, offering a wide array of tandoori and biryani dishes. Here's my review of the experience:
Ambiance (4/5): The restaurant boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a cozy dinner with friends or family. The decor reflects Indian culture, with vibrant colors and tasteful artwork, creating an authentic dining environment.
Service (4/5): The service was attentive and friendly, with the staff providing recommendations and accommodating special requests. Our dishes arrived promptly, and the waitstaff was knowledgeable about the menu.
Food (5/5): The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the food. We started with the Vindaloo, a spicy and tangy Goat curry. The balance of flavors was exceptional, and the tender chunks of meat (I had chicken) soaked up the rich sauce perfectly. The level of spiciness was just right, offering a pleasant kick without overpowering the other flavors.
The Chicken Tandoori Mix was a showstopper. The tandoor-grilled chicken had a smoky, charred aroma and was incredibly juicy. The mix of various tandoori meats provided a delightful variety of tastes and textures.
Biryani (4/5): We couldn't visit an establishment with "Biryani House" in its name without trying their biryani. We opted for the classic chicken biryani, and it didn't disappoint. Fragrant and aromatic, the rice was well-seasoned and adorned with succulent pieces of chicken.
Overall Experience (4.5/5): King of Tandoor & Biryani House exceeded my expectations. The restaurant offers a great selection of Indian dishes, and the flavors were truly authentic. Whether you're a fan of spicy curries or smoky tandoori dishes, this place has something for everyone.
I would highly recommend King of Tandoor & Biryani House to anyone seeking a taste of India It's a place where you can savor the rich and diverse flavors of Indian cuisine in a welcoming setting. I'll certainly be returning to try more of their tempting menu offerings...
Read moreWhen dining out, the anticipation of a delectable culinary experience is often met with excitement and eagerness. Unfortunately, this was not the case during my recent visit to an Indian restaurant that left me utterly disappointed. From the lackluster food to the subpar service, the entire experience was a far cry from what I had hoped for.
Upon entering the restaurant, the ambiance seemed promising with its dim lighting and traditional Indian decor. However, any hopes of a delightful evening were quickly dashed as the evening progressed. The menu offered a variety of dishes, each promising authentic flavors and spices that are characteristic of Indian cuisine. Eager to explore, I ordered a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
The disappointment began with the arrival of the food. The presentation lacked finesse and attention to detail, giving off an impression of haste rather than care. The dishes themselves were a different story altogether. The once-vibrant colors that are synonymous with Indian cuisine were replaced by a dull, monotonous palette. The flavors were severely lacking; the spices seemed either overused or absent, rendering the food bland and unappetizing.
Compounding the issue was the service, which was marked by indifference and a lack of attentiveness. One of the staff named IMRAN who was our server, appeared disinterested and was very rude with the customers, as if going through the motions without genuine concern for the customers' experience. Requests for recommendations or clarifications on the menu were met with vague answers that only added to the confusion. The time it took for the dishes to arrive was considerably longer than expected, and any attempts to address this with the staff were met with dismissive responses.
Perhaps the most disappointing aspect was the overall value for money. The prices were quite high, considering the quality of the food and the experience as a whole. It was disheartening to think that the amount paid did not reflect the...

This was my first meal in Philadelphia and I’m disappointed by the service I received. When placing my order I pointed to a specific dish but received something entirely different. When I mentioned the error to another gentleman he was very dismissive and condensing. I had to explain to him three times that what I received was not what I showed the man I dealt with originally. I requested the correct dish which I was then told was not available. Then I requested a refund which he refused. So I settled for the fried rice with chicken and requested that it not be spicy. When I got back to my hotel, lo and behold my dish was SO SPICY with lots of burnt bits inside. After picking out a handful of burnt pieces I was only able to eat 3 or 4 bites before the heat was too much. Sweating and hot chest kind of heat. If I continued it would have triggered my asthma. My food was made with extra pepper out of spite. A complete waste of money. This situation was handled so unprofessionally I would never go back or recommend this place to others. This place is not recommended if you are a novice to Indian dishes because they don’t seem like they care to explain the dishes and when they are faced with questions it seems offense on their end can be easily taken. I bet a lot of the 5 star...
