La Sera Italiana — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I stopped by this place with a guest visiting Philly for the weekend. I wanted a great BYOB Italian experience and I got it! The place is small but cozy. We started with the mussels appetizer (I wanted to get the grilled octopus appetizer but it was sold out, must be good!). The mussels appetizer was okay, nothing to rave about but I enjoyed the white wine broth. Our entrees were fantastic however. I got the linguine alla vongole, my companion got the tagliatelle special with seafood. Both of them were absolutely delicious! Linguine alla vongole was sinfully delicious, buttery creamy sauce and clams were cooked perfectly. The tagliatelle special was a little spicy and the seafood was cooked perfectly. Folks we are Italians who live in Virginia and I have to say this was the best Italian meal I have had in a restaurant in a very long time! We got an early reservation for 6 and enjoyed Italian pasta dishes including my fav Chicken parm. The Spaghetti was cooked perfectly Al dente and salty but just right. The pasta bolognese and pasta carbonara were amazing from my family’s reviews. We got like 3 appetizers and ceaser salads and they were all fresh and flavorful. I had dinner at La Sera the other day and was impressed. The appetizers were delicious--we had the calamari, cozze, and mushrooms. All were delicious, but the mushrooms were phenomenal. For entrees, our table had the ribeye, veal ripieno, spaghetti and meatballs, and ravioli rosa. Everyone loved their food.

And I must give a special shout out to Meritan. I realized the next day that I left my hat at the restaurant and I had already left for the airport to return to Florida. I connected with Meritan who I coordinated with to have it shipped to my house.
