Very mushroom heavy. If you’re not a fan of mushrooms, you might want to rethink coming here. But if you love mushrooms, this is your spot.

We got a divine plate with 5 selections, an extra piece of fried chick’un (I didn’t want to get 2 pieces for $5 AND have that take up one of my 5 selections, so we just got the single one for $2.50 on its own. That was plenty for the 2 of us. It’s gigantic!) and we also got the cheesesteak (“that Philly jawn”)

The winner by far was the cheesesteak. It was a little too drippy with oil, but the flavors were excellent. (Even the ketchup drizzle surprise on the bread.) it seemed like this was made with portabellas. Plenty of filling for the roll. (Maybe slightly too much, but that’s fine, we ate what fell out with a fork, and it was just as enjoyable. It will absolutely get all over your face, so plan accordingly)

The chick’un was fascinating! Enoki give a super interesting texture. Just make sure to start eating it from the correct end, because I ended up pulling almost all my mushroom out of the filling because I started from the base, and my teeth wouldn’t saw through the fibrous mushroom and it slid right out. Oops! But eating from the correct direction, the other end is a bit more tender and will be more likely to stay in place for the duration. Either way, the batter is super flavorful and perfect! I didn’t mind that my later bites had very little mushroom inside.

The divine platter was hit and miss. The kale was excessively salty. (Even my salt loving husband was taken back by it. The flavors were excellent, but the salt levels were unpleasant. Dial that back and it’d be on top.)

The Mac and cheese was good. It seemed like it had carrot in the sauce. (I wonder if it’s a riff on the classic vegnews Mac and cheese recipe.) it was creamy and the pasta was nice and tender. Maybe not enough nooch to be considered “cheese”, but it was still a tasty creamy pasta dish.

The black rice was simple. Doesn’t seem like there were much in the way of flavorings for that. It had the texture of risotto.

The curry plantain was fine. Exactly as stated. (Uses starchy green plantain in case you were wondering)

The oxtail sauce had a really nice subtle allspice-type flavor, but the mushroom was a bit too firm for my preference. (Which may be what nourish is going for, but I wouldn’t get it again.) I’ve been spoiled by sedjedo’s oxtail, this version pales...

friendly staff but the seamoss I bought from here like 4 days ago has MOLDED all through it which i only saw because I'm a picky eater [I didn't look the other days unfortunately] so if you have bought seamoss from here be careful as this will get you sick, I don't recommend buying seamoss from Nourish !!!!! Updated with Photo, those are mold spots and they are growing all throughout, this item has been refrigerated in a fridge that is almost as cold as a freezer so I am very disappointed)

Update: Response to Owner, I would be too scared to ever get seamoss from your place ever again based on this. Just think about it, I found it molding throughout the seamoss on 4/23/2025 when if you look at the pictures again the expiration date hand written by you guys on it says 5-30-2025 it a whole month + early it has gone super bad that is crazy. And FYI I actually asked the guy at the cashier how fresh the seamoss was & he said they had just made it, so to me this is a serious health alert & concern for not just me for all of your customers, the last thing you want is anybody getting sick as this is serious. I suggest you PULL all the SEAMOSS from your fridge and stop selling it and then monitor the ones you do have to watch for MOLD GROWTH (as most likely they will all mold before their expiration date) and Please DO NOT SELL it to the general public again UNTIL you rectify the situation and why they are going bad within days and over a month from expiration. Not all people inspect their food before ingesting it so again this is a serious health hazard, if I didn't finally look I would have kept consuming it until it ran out (very dangerous). So please figure out why this has happened before letting people buy this again please. People go to a vegan restaurant to try to be healthy not to try to get...

I didn’t take any pics of this restaurant. I don’t usually write bad reviews. The food was bland. I ordered the combo plate with quinoa black beans, kales, and squash. The quinoa and black beans were ok but bland. The kale tasted like steamed but long time ago and the kale not even hot, just warm and cold on the edge of the whole kale cluster. The squash is too salty and not fresh at all. I also ordered the Joint juice. I finished me and my friends finished the food and the drinks are not come up yet. It was just us and the other table of two people (maybe too busy on to-go orders). My friend ask the guy about the drinks and he said he just started working on it and kept chitchatting and texting on phone instead making our drinks. After about half an hour sitting there and finishing out foods. My friend ask the employee if he forgot our drinks. He said working on it. But after 5 mins later he ask if I want to change to smoothies because he said he has to wash the whole cold press machine and it takes a couple mins. I was like ok. I was thinking what’s the different I’ve already been waiting for longer than that few more mins. Here’s a thing. Then I switched to the beets strawberry smoothie. But I don’t think he put beets in it. I know the facts that beets make the urine turn red. I sometimes make my own juice so I know. But I went to bathroom twice after that dinner, it wasn’t even pink! I was extremely disappointed! I had a high hope for this restaurant but I’m sadly to say it’s not...

Now one of my favorite vegan spots in Philly is @nourishphilly. If you're in the city, I recommend you check them out! Their Lion Bites are Out of This World!!! Usually I get the Vegan Fried Chick'un Platter but this time I decided to try the It's Tradition pizza and The Divine Dish (large). Much love on the excellent service as usual ❤ Be sure to follow them and check out their full menu on their website. #philly #nourishphilly #earthtoqua #plantbased #veganeats #foodie #veganfoodie #healthyliving #healthiswealth #veganspot #foodreview
