Over the past 5 years i've frequent this restaurant getting my usual combination gyro with chicken and lamb, so to say i enjoy the food is obvious. But this past Monday i had an experience with a cook by the name of Jay i believe that will have me not returning.
As i mentioned i frequently get the same item and this time i felt the chicken was under cooked. I made no big deal of it, pointed no fingers, only wished to have a new gyro made after walking 3 blocks back to the restaurant.
The waitress i was speaking with was helpful and willing to replace the sandwich but the cook overheard my request walking by and began to tell me repeatedly "The chicken is cooked". He eventually walked away shaking his head and began to grill some chicken for my new gyro but clearly upset.
Once the chicken was cooked he then put it on the pita and handed it off to another coworker who began to dress the gyro. As i noticed i asked the other coworker if it was my gyro he was dressing, as i had lamb on my original gyro. The disgruntle cook then shouted at me "You said chicken!", but the waitress who assisted me quickly corrected him explaining it was a combination gyro. I asked the cook why he was arguing with me and he just repeated intensely "im not arguing bro!", as he completed my gyro and others tried to calm him down.
I thanked both of the waitresses for handling the matter professionally and mentioned the cooks attitude is some sh*t and i cannot return. He immediately become more intense and shouted threatening quotes to attack me while being held back by others. This could have been avoided, i'm upset, and embarrassed that it was public.
I regret that i did not write a review over the 5 yrs i have visited because i do enjoy my gyro (4 stars). But i will not return until that cook no longer...
Read moreI was excited to try a new vendor in RTM because I usually am a patron of just a few spots. While the counter was filled with customers the service was slow, I ordered a chicken sandwich ( Chicken Souvlaki)and fries. The fries were good but were they old…(idk)The fries came before they began my sandwich order and sat on the counter. I applaud the patience of the waitress because she was dealing with a difficult customer nearest me. Ok, back to the sandwich… it came and the pita was literally falling apart as it was wrapped. Ok, I’ll chuck it down anyway.. upon trying to pack the fries that sat and sat like prudence on her potty I found myself telling the cook to prepare me fresh fries. He took my box of fries tossed them atop the miniature oven warmer and commenced to reheating sitting fries in the basket. After packing my food, he took my old fries and put them in the basket to give to another poor soul. The cook area was small and the food was substandard… nothing to rave about… I’m fairly certain I’ll never eat anything from there again. Customer service and satisfaction should be top of kind as these businesses continue to emerge from Covid. Quality still counts. Oh yeah, apparently the meal I ordered came with a drink… the lemonade was just water with yellow coloring. I really like...
Read moreLovely folks who work here should eat at a Greek place sometime. A Greek Gyro with a Greek salad was shredded lettuce (which to me says bulk lettuce for sandwich topping, not a salad). 3 thin pieces of tomato (hot house and flavor-less even in prime tomato season this August) two olives and one small cube (about the size of a Monopoly dice) of feta cheese. The oddest thing about this "Greek Salad" was the many minced white onions on the side of the salad. White onions on a salad are too assertive and minced ones are unappealing looking and hard to pick out. No hot peppers, no stuffed grape leaves, there was even no dressing on the salad. The lamb gyro meat was dry but the tzatziki sauce was thick and tasty enough to cover it over. The service was lovely and fast and the folks were very friendly and welcoming. They seemed to care. But maybe they just don't eat their own food? I can't speak for the rest the the menu, but skip the lamb gyro and...
