This place to use be Old County Buffet before it closed down and now they renovated it to be an Asian buffet. The interior looked basically the same apart from minor cosmetic changes that normally happens when a new owner takes over. Everything looks much brighter with a new fresh paint job and blue neon lights that signify the sushi and hibachi bars towards the back. There are couple big screen televisions spread around the perimeter the restaurant that you can watch while eating. If I’m not mistaken, there are four hot food bars, a salad bar, a fruit bar, and a dessert bar, totaling seven altogether towards the middle/back area for you to pick and choose to your heart’s delight. The main change for those who knew is the entrance and exit. The old entrance is now an exit and the new entrance is to your left when you enter. Towards the old entrance, there is now a full seating area that seems to not be in use unless it’s really busy or maybe for private parties. The food here is your typical Asian buffet styled foods, ranging from simple rolls to hot and sour soups to General Tsos’ Chicken. They even advertise having Italian, which I assume is the chicken meatballs. Maybe also the salad, but I found it weird. Most of the food I’ve tried were okay to taste, edible and gets you full. That’s the main point of any buffet. I did not taste much MSG or other fillers in their food, which is a bit surprising. My friend tried the hibachi and it was quite bland. The noodles and meat were tasteless and she couldn’t even finish it. The sushi in the back looked a bit old and unappetizing, so I didn’t bother getting any of those. The foods are always hot and the pans are almost never empty because they refill it constantly as soon as the food is almost gone, which is excellent to me. The fruits were quite fresh, although some were definitely canned, but still pretty refreshing. For the deserts, they had the typical chocolate/vanilla/twist ice cream machine with either bowls or cones for your choosing. They also had a chocolate fondue machine next to it with marshmallows, which I found quite cool. You can also use the fruits nearby to dip in however you like. Overall, my first experience here was a solid 3.5 stars out of 5. While it did not wow or amaze me in any way, it also did not prevent me from coming back. Sure there are flaws to any restaurant, but they just opened for business so things are quite chaotic. Give them a chance and some time to perfect their techniques and tastes and maybe it...
Read morePLEASE READ BEFORE YOU GO HERE!!!Ok so the food here is pretty good but the employees don’t care about us as customers. Today me and my family went for dinner. I experienced a young man sneeze at one of the food bars and all this snot went into two of the food pepper steak and another food trey and an employee seen it and didn’t want to do anything about it. So I told him he has to throw it away he didn’t really want to do it so he took up one of the Trey that had vegetables in it and threw it away and took up the pepper steak and brung it to the back. I was so disgusted I told the manager she went to the back and told me to come look and it wasn’t in the trash and then she stated he must have threw it in a different trash. I was so disgusted on how they straight lied to my face I couldn’t eat nothing else. When I reported it the manager could care less, just like another situation I encountered their shrimp fell on the counter and the hibachi guy put it back on the try in the bar and when I reported it they put it in the fridge. I did ask for a refund and I’ll pay for the meal me and my family ate, the manager denied with an attitude. I made an announcement of what I encountered and went on my way and some followed. Now I’m leaving a review think bout it if they didn’t follow the proper protocol to throw away the food in both these situations imagine how they handle the public food in the back. They just care about money they don’t care about us the customers. I will never go back here and I don’t suggest you or your love should. Peace and blessing’s to all, just cook your own food or spend money at a restaurant that you know the public don’t have access to but once again I HIGHLY DON’T RECOMMEND...
Read more2nd review: Finally got around to coming back and giving this place a shot and was pleasantly surprised. Last time there wasn’t sushi but this time they had some pretty good sushi nigiri pieces(fish on top) and rolls. The food was great, from the fried shrimp that I had about 3 times to the mussels that weren’t slimy and was in a solid jalapeño sauce. Weirdly enough even at lunch time some of the options were a bit cold, looking at you corn bread.
The wait staff were ok super fast to pick up that first plate and bring that first drink but after that they’re not really around. They brought out the fortune cookie fairly quick too around that 30 minute mark. Also, the hibachi chef was kinda rushing off with no other orders on the grill or in the line. Wasn’t the best hibachi plate either. Overall though a solid buffet that’ll rival the one across the street any day(which I’m a die hard fan of). Definitely worth a visit!!
1st review 3/5: This is written after dining here twice and both times there was no sushi options, so I had to minus a star for that.
Regardless, it was a pretty decent dining experience, you will find the typical options of Chinese buffet foods. The hibachi station is always a must and the other food choices weren't that bad. Wasn't a fan of their fried rice which was a bit on the harder side and the general tsos had more of a soft coating than crunchy.
The wait staff was quick and always attentive, you know the hawks they can be but would rather not have dirty plates and empty glasses sitting around. There's always fresh food coming out so leave some room for those...
