100% would not stay there again and had I not wanted to avoid a fight or struggle with getting a different (& likely way more expensive) hotel, I would've left.
Pros: They've got security guards on site. The Staff were polite if standoffish.
Cons: The area makes the Staff feel the need for two armed guards on site everyday. The hotel is not easily accessible but that's mostly due to the way the city streets are setup. When attempting to check in they couldn't find my reservation by name or reservation number. It took them searching several minutes to eventually find it. The entire hotel is run down with carpets thread bare and dim lighting. My room was very small which wasn't a big deal but no fridge, microwave, or coffee maker. There was definitely no breakfast despite both the website & their hotel sign stating a continental was available every day. There's a thick layer of dust on everything with spill stains down the sides of furniture. The bedding smells like cigarettes and was covered in burn marks. Actually the entire room had a funk to it, some cross between cigarettes & damp earth. The bathroom was in a poor state with mold all over the tub, the sink stopper wasn't properly connected, there's no vent fan so the air fogs up and aids in mold growth, and the towels are so small you can't wrap it around a small woman. All of the room floors were sticky so I wore shoes or stepped on the towels I laid down after showers. There were also small brown flying bugs primarily in/ around the bathroom. The walls were also paper thin & you could hear the heated arguments between customers & security, someone's Sunday church program, and the fights about baby momma.
It was $347.40 for three nights in a non smoking room or $115.80/night which was more than what was posted online. There's also no late check out. I'm sure it's a steal for such an expensive area however not worth it if you have a choice. Next time I will not book through...
Read moreThe room was clean and the staff did their jobs which is the only reason this isn't a zero rating. The area was not one to bring a family into with people hanging around outside for no apparent reason, a bus stop in front of the hotel that had people lingering in the driveway, what appeared to be ladies of the evening hanging about, a family that appeared to be residents of the hotel that were loud and rude and in front of the hotel frequently, there was a syringe next to the building, a condom box in the parking area etc. Transients were at the street corner two doors down begging for change, etc. The common areas of the hotel were not air conditioned with the lobby and halls being hot and stuffy. The room had a distinct odor of some type of cleaning solution and the room AC had a similar, but more pungent odor (especially the first day). We had the AC set at 67 the entire stay (5 days) and the room temp lingered in the mid to low 70's. The room and bathroom were both small with the vanity being something you'd see in a spare bath at home with barely any counter space. The rooms had been remodeled, but the workmanship (particularly in the bathroom) was not done by a real professional as evidenced by the many flaws. The tub was an overlay and there was a pocket of air between it and the old tub making it unstable to stand in. There were two sets of faucets in the tub. The one was non-functioning with the knobs removed and the functioning ones leaking a great deal. Shower temperature fluctuated with spurts of hot and cold. I cannot recommend this hotel for anyone unless they have no other options and need to crash for a single night and they feel they can protect themselves if the need arises. Your money would be better spent elsewhere, particularly when you can upgrade easily and relatively cheaply elsewhere in the city. Forgot to mention that there was no fridge, no microwave, no iron, and the ice was half melted out of...
Read moreAbsolutely DISGUSTING! Checked in to the Days Inn (room 264) two days ago... had a bad feeling as soon as I walked in the room. Looked like a room from a 90's motel with it's outdated bed quilt (which happened to have cigarette burns). Blanket underneath quilt was stained and there were strands of hair throughout the blanket... clearly it was not a fresh nor clean blanket! I almost immediately started checking for any signs of bedbugs.. (being that I had a very traumatic bedbug experience before and do NOT look forward to experiencing it again!) I found an accumulation of spots in the wall near and behind the wooden headboard and I already knew something was suspicious, being that that's usually one the signs of bedbugs... accumulation of dark spots that are fecal stains or spots of blood. And the spots that were on the wall definitely looked like dry blood! Wood around bathroom door frame was breaking down and there were several more dark spots on the floor, near door frame. I ended up checking out just 4 HOURS later because I simply COULDN'T get myself to stay there.. I didn't even wanna sit on the bed! I was charged $130 when I first checked in and just 4 hours later, after telling them I simply wasn't satisfied with the room nor the upkeeping, all they refunded me was $40!!!!! The next day, I go to my sister's house wearing the same jacket that I wore in the Days Inn... and my poor sister called me the next day in an extreme panic because she found a BEDBUG! Smh I'm convinced it got on me from in the Days Inn and traveled on my jacket to her house. I feel terrible and disgusted! This place needs to be shut down! Terrible housekeeping, dirty as hell... not clean or presentable in any way, shape or form! Please do not go here. Y'all have no idea how hard it is to get rid of and how expensive it can be. You don't wanna live through the trauma not financial burden. STAY AWAY FROM DAYS...
