Wow! An unexpected gem in this area of Phoenix. Amazing food.
Was craving some fettuccine alfredo, and found this place on google.
Ordered the combination plate which included chicken parmesan, lasagna, and fettuccine alfredo. I ordered my fettuccine alfredo with angel hair noodles which wasnt a problem. It comes with a soup or salad and garlic bread (i believe you can get french bread as a different option). The salad was on point, fresh and the shredded mozzarella cheese to finish it off. Each one of the items on the combo plate were absolutely amazing. The chicken parmesan was a thick, juicy, piece of chicken instead of your regular, thinly cut chicken. The fettuccine alfredo was definitely some of the best i have ever had. Creamy and full of flavor. The noodles were also noticeably better than other noodles. My favorite of the three was the lasagna!!! Excellent excellent excellent!!! The ricotta cheese, combined with the sauce and the perfectly cooked noodles combine for a some of the best lasagna!
Wanted to add that the garlic bread that came with my order was also some of the best ive had! The bread, yes the bread was outstanding! Was toasted with not one single sign of black char, and when you bit into it, an intial crispy crunch that almost immediately starts to dissolve in your mouth. Reminded me of the texture of a krisykreame when it starts to dissolve after chewing it a couple of time. Amazing bread. Amazing!
Not the friendliest staff as she had another task to take care of before seating me as she pointed out, and i noticed she did it to another family that came in after me. After taking care of her important task, she tells me to sit wherever? Tip: greet and seat them quickly! My waitress was simple but got the job done.
Plenty of parking, but i wonder what this place looks like on a weekend evening.
I will definitely look forward to this place on any trip in...
Read moreDon't usually start with the bad but.. it was bad... Nothing was good. The food was mediocre at best. We ordered the sampler appetizer and everything tasted like frozen bagged stuff from Walmart and it was soaked in oil like maybe it wasn't hot enough when it was fried or maybe the oil was really dirty.. not sure. The bread isn't served prior to the meal-like every other restaurant.. which I hasn't a huge fan of but when they finally brought bread with the entrees it was the equivalent of the pre-sliced pre-buttered french bread from Walmart.. if I wanted Walmart for dinner I'd have gone to Walmart. I ordered the chicken Parm and the chicken was bone dry, the breading had almost no flavor and the and the marinana sauce on top was really bad. In my opinion, you can judge a good Italian restaurant but their marinara because it's the base of so many Italian dishes and it's so basic...Tomato, salt, pepper, garlic. Again, it tasted like a Walmart brand jar of marinara sauce. My wife ordered a pizza which she thought was terrible. She brought it home in a box out of guilt and didn't say anything until we got home. She left it in the car and when I said "you forgot your leftovers" she just laughed and said "just toss it. It was really bad."
The good... The service was good. Our server was very nice and attentive. She was prompt of refilling drinks and clearing dishes. The interior of the restaurant is nice. A stark contrast to the exterior.. don't go north to Sweetwater to get on the I-17. The motel there is BAD.
All in all, I've been to alot of Italian restaurants and this one was definitely one...
Read moreFood is delicious. I wish I could say the service was just as good, but it was disappointing. It wasn't busy, but a few of us had to wait to be seated because no one was watching the front lobby. Finally, a young man came and seated me and my small children. It was just the 3 of us in our party. He did not offer me a highchair or booster for my 2 year old, who was obviously too small to sit in the booth. By the time I turned to ask he had already left to seat the others who were waiting in the lobby. I ended up getting my own highchair, and then I was told I had to move tables because highchairs couldn't be at that table for safety reasons. I told my waitress the host didn't offer me a booster or highchair, and she said, "Well, maybe it's because he thought your child was big enough." The proper customer service response would have been, "I'm sorry about that, I will let him know." (So this doesn't happen again to other Moms). The waitress brought out our appetizer (cheesy fries) but didn't bring forks for us to eat them. I had to go to the waiter station and wait for someone to come by, which was a few minutes. My little son was offered sausage to go with his spaghetti, but it wasn't mentioned to us that it was hot sausage, so he didn't get to eat it, which he normally enjoys .although I did ask for a refund on it, and it was granted. Bathrooms were nice and clean. The food was good as well. I will return, although I will say a bit of customer service training is in order in case management...
