Make sure you get out of this place before the sun goes down. If you've ever seen the movie, I Am legend or the Omega Man you will get the idea. You don't see anybody let's call them interesting while the sun is out. But when the sun goes down they start to fill the streets. I'm of course talking about crackheads. This is your one and only warning now on to the review. It was our anniversary and my wife wanted to go and check out this antiques place and while I live in Gilbert and it is across the valley, I decided sure and I really wasn't paying attention. I was just following the map. I don't really pay attention what goes on in the avenues, especially since the only time I go into the avenues is downtown and never the outlying areas. The brass armadillo is like a giant flea market with air conditioning. There are some very nice items in there but I'm guessing a lot of people have a certain theme to their house and they'd want to keep the aesthetic the same. Our kitchen revolves around coffee because if you're being honest, it is an actual food group. I was looking for anything that would be considered antique artwork revolving around coffee. My wife was looking for knick-knacks and on the side I was looking for old doc, Martin shoes or combat boots. Also any cool t-shirts. I found both but the cool t-shirts were not in my size and in combat boots and doc martens were not in my size. It was definitely a win-win for someone else. But I proceeded to go through the brass armadillo and look at everything. It's got a ton of Time Life books that we all saw on Sundays about world war II or the '60s or whatever sort of generational propaganda they were pushing at the time. I also found a huge library of compact discs which if my range of music included top 40 I'm sure I would love it. There is a ton of kitchen items from Pyrex bowls. Really nice ones but we already have those at home. Two very old and very nice chef's knives that you would have professionally sharpened. I was leaning towards those but then I thought how many more knives do I need? I used to cook Joy. I only use knives that feel comfortable in my hand and not what's popular. For t-shirts and clothes it ranged from large to medium to small in men's. I have to tell you I can't recall the last time I saw a man wear a medium or small in men's. It left me a little confused. There are a ton of books and since I'm a booked addict I looked and didn't find anything interesting. A lot of Daniell stuff. A lot of common crime novel things. A ton of financial books which no longer can be applied now that we have the stock market. Oddly enough, I didn't find any science books or books on physics or mathematics that made me pay attention and so I looked harder and didn't find any. I guess the idea is you only put the merchandise out that you know that will sell. That being said, if you were into old Playboy magazines they have those for you. I even saw one with an interview with Arthur C. Clarke and I almost purchased it just for the interview. People say that you can't do it all in one day. My wife and I did it in 2 hours. There's a lot of junk here pure and utter crap but you're going to get that. This is all about volume ladies and gentlemen and you have to sift through the volume to perhaps find something that you find great. I did find a few things but in consideration and asking my wife. What do you think about this? She said well that would look great in your own apartment, meaning it won't go in our house. I smiled and laughed at that because we've been married for over 20 years. Truly, if I was left to my own devices my house would not have its own theme and the adolescent that lives inside of me would slowly take over. Like covid did in the United States you wouldn't be able to tell where it started and where it ended. Is this a good use of your time? Well I think it is and I don't think it was a waste of time to go. I did buy one thing but part of the charm of this place is spending time with someone that you like/ love. Good...
Read moreThe store is very nice , almost like a an antique/collectors museum. My son goes here for Pokémon cards . This is our 3erd visit and and 2/3 were bad experiences .
The first visit , I sent my son in alone he’s 10 years old . No signs on door saying kids can not enter . With in mins my son was escorted out by a dealer not an employee stating “ he can not be on here alone and Do NOT DO IT AGAIN” my son came out and tears telling me the lady yelled at him . I asked him his she yelled at him or just told him nicely . He let me know that she raised her voice at him . This was very upsetting. I called to speak to The manger left my number and was never called back
The 2nd visit went well no complaints I went in with my son eveething was fine good customer service .
3erd visit was today . It’s pretty obvious the staff is 90 percent elderly people which is fine but it seems like the younger crowd does not get treated as good as the older customers . My son waited about 5 mins in line . A few guest before him a few guest after . Once it was his turn, the lady at check out called the woman behind us and said it was her turn . I let them know my son was next in line not her. I spoke up for my son and let them know she was wrong and my son was in front of her . The checked out my son and during that transaction they kept telling eachother that the older woman behind my son was next .
This was very disappointing and it seems like customers service is a hit or miss . I respect my my elders and so does my son but that does not mean they should be able to cut in line and or that I should be treated like I or...
Read moreNormally this place is one of my favorite places to spend my free time, browsing and shopping through all the amazing items. Today’s experience was rather off putting. I pushed the bell just like always and after a min an older woman came to help me at the case. This time it seemed like I was wasting the lady’s time and she was very rushy about me making a decision. She kept sighing heavy when I asked her a question and would just ask me if I wanted the item. She was very rude and very rushy. Take in mind this whole experience happened in less than two minute span, so it’s not like I was taking up this lady’s time. Feeling very off put, I spoke with the gentleman up front in a blue shirt about what had happened and he justified the woman’s attitude because they were busy and brushed me off. Under what circumstance is it okay for your employee to treat a customer in this manner. If I was to treat a customer in the manner she treated me in my place of business, I would probably get fired quicker than I could explain myself.. I truly enjoy shopping here but not if this is...
