The restaurant is located next to a Jimmy John, you need to look hard to find it. Menu is located on the wall as you walk in adjacent to the serving counter, menus up too high on the wall, and there is only one menu, there should be another menu located on the wall behind the service area, ingredients are located in front of you, you can see all ingredients and they are tagged with names for each ingredient which is a plus, but if you're in a hurry and have people waiting behind you it may be a problem for some, especially people that cannot read the fine print without their reading glasses.
The atmosphere of the restaurant it's not ready aesthetically appealing, and would not remind anyone of anything that is Greek, there is also no smell of Greek food cooking which is very odd.
The ingredients are held on a steam table, and also in a cold prep area for the cold ingredients.
I think most people would rather see their food come directly from the kitchen and be placed on the Peter bread, but this is not the case, it looks like they are trying to save time because they are express, so they hold food like McDonald's which is not very appealing at all.
The seating for the tables in the middle have a lot to be desired, they're very uncomfortable, and the tables are too small for two people. There are booths located against the wall in the dining area that see approximately 4 to 6 people. I guess if you're getting an order to go it doesn't really matter what the place looks like inside, but if you want to relax I don't think it's a good place to take a date, or to meet.
The food we ordered was nothing to write home about, the amount of ingredients that were given for the price is terrible to say the least, less than 4 oz of meat appalling for $10. The only thing that makes up for that is the fact that you can have as many ingredients on the pizza that will fit. The taste of the food was very bland for Greek food, and white and dark meat are used when it comes to chicken.
Parking is okay, and there is no wait in line, I don't wonder why at all.
The bathrooms were clean I won't give them that much, and the rest of the restaurant is also clean, and tidy, but it has just opened.
Overall I would not recommend, not one raised pizza is close by that has been in business for many years and gives adequate portions for the price, but then again it's pizza and Italian food not Greek food.
If I were going to compare it to any place, I would compare it to pita jungle, for the Stark atmosphere, and the potential for a noisy atmosphere because of the cement floors and non-acoustic ceilings. One thing that pita jungle has is adequate portions compared to Express pita Cafe, and that means everything, and also you can see the food made in front of you...
Read moreHonestly, as a fellow business owner, it pains me to leave a review like this, but I feel it's necessary. Walking in, the first thing that hit me was this really off-putting smell, like the floor had been mopped with water that definitely wasn't clean. Then the food... it just wasn't good. The fries were limp and the portion was tiny for what they charged. But the gyro? That was the real letdown. One bite and it was clear the ingredients were questionable– honestly, they tasted a bit dodgy. And the sauce that came with it? Absolutely rancid. It was disgusting and made the whole thing inedible. To top it off, they were out of Cherry Coke. When I asked the employee if they could fix that, maybe change out the syrup, she just shrugged and said they couldn’t, offering me a can from the fridge instead. Seriously? How can employees not even know how to change a syrup canister in a soda fountain? It just speaks to a real lack of training and attention to detail.
When I went to return the gyro because of the awful sauce, the way I was treated by the person at the front was just… wow. Negative to say the least. Not only did she not apologize, but she actually argued with me, insisting that the sour/rancid, almost rotten taste of the sauce was intentional and that "a lot of people just don't like it." Seriously? To admit that your sauce is widely disliked and still serve it is baffling. And to argue with a customer about it? That's beyond unprofessional. It honestly made me feel like they didn't care at all. And it wasn't just me – I saw her being pretty rude and dismissive to another customer who just wanted his food made a certain way.
You see a lot of restaurants come and go today. It makes you wonder if the owner of this new place really gets what it takes to run a business. I say this because they weren’t around. Cleanliness, decent food (and definitely not serving rancid sauce!), having basic drink options available, and treating customers with respect – those are pretty basic, right? This experience left me seriously questioning if they're even trying to make it here. Sad thing is, they were recommend by a friend who trusted them.
If the owners are planning on just sitting back and collecting, you better start trying to figure out how to explain to your lenders and investors why you couldn’t keep the doors open. Good restaurants stand the test of time because they serve amazing food and have above all else amazing...
Read moreCrazy Greek Restaurant on Bell and 7th is truly a hidden treasure for anyone who enjoys authentic Greek and Mediterranean food. Whether you are a vegetarian searching for a healthy meal or simply looking for a satisfying bite, this spot delivers. It’s set up like a fast-casual restaurant, but with the warmth and hospitality of a family kitchen.
From the moment I walked in, I felt the family-friendly atmosphere. A playful five-year-old (a guest of a dining family, not an employee) greeted me at the door with a smile, which instantly showed the kind of community vibe this place has. After that laughable and heartwarming moment, I was warmly welcomed at the counter by two friendly young ladies who took the time to explain the menu and answered my questions with patience.
The menu offers a wide variety of Mediterranean favorites. You’ll find classics like gyros, Greek salads, falafel, hummus, dolmas (stuffed grape leaves), and pita with tzatziki. For something heartier, there are lamb and chicken platters served with rice and vegetables, as well as crispy fries and spanakopita (spinach pie). My companion and I ordered Greek salads, fries, and a gyro. The food arrived hot, fresh, and flavorful—the salads were crisp and refreshing, and the gyro was deliciously seasoned and wrapped perfectly in warm pita.
The restaurant itself is spacious, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The interior is clean, with flat-screen TVs for watching sports, while the patio seating sits near a beautiful fountain, making it a relaxing spot to enjoy your meal. The restrooms were also spotless, which speaks to the overall cleanliness and care put into the establishment.
It’s easy to miss this gem tucked behind Safeway, but it’s absolutely worth seeking out. Highly recommended for anyone craving genuine, wholesome Greek food in a welcoming, family-friendly environment. Off 7th...
