Juanderful Tacos — Restaurant in Phoenix

I discovered this place thanks to a review on TikTok by Keith Lee, and it's conveniently located just 8 minutes away from me. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly and professional lady at the front desk. She had an infectious energy that made me feel welcome. For me, good customer service is just as important as the taste of the food, and they definitely nailed it in that aspect.

Now, let's talk about the food. When I say I want tacos, this place delivered exactly what I had in mind! They are incredibly generous with the amount of meat in their tacos, and they look absolutely satisfying. The taste? It's simply amazing! I particularly enjoyed the carne asada and chicken tacos. I also tried beef tongue and head for the first time. While the tongue wasn't too bad, I couldn't help but feel a little squeamish about eating cow head. The tongue was juicy, tender, and had a great flavor, but the head wasn't my cup of tea. I just couldn't get past the visual of a cow head every time I took a bite! Despite that, it was still a fantastic experience that I'll definitely repeat.

Ok full disclosure, I came here after seeing this place on TikTok. So I was expecting it to be a little busy. It was busier when I got there but not like crazy line out the door or anything. I was able to sit down on one of the picnic tables outside. Their menu is basic and it’s made known ahead of time that nothing comes with toppings so you would have to get your own toppings, which is totally fine. I am mentioning all of this first because I really don’t understand how it took 45 minutes for me to get four street tacos. I got two steak and two chicken. They were literally just meat in a flour tortilla. They need a better system on how they are processing their orders because there is just no way these tacos were worth waiting that long for. They tasted OK but definitely weren’t out of this world or anything. I may try them again in the future but it will be at a different time of day on a different day...

I saw this restaurant on IG with Keith Lee and have wanted to try it ever since. I finally made my way there and let me tell you, if you just want some tacos, plain and simple and don’t want to hop on the birria wagon, this place is just perfect! They are simple and delicious! The meat is seasoned perfectly and the tortillas are fresh. It is all I have been wanting but since birria is everywhere is seems a good old fashion taco in Phoenix is becoming more rare.
