They USED to be good. My husband and I used to frequent this place but man, has it gone downhill. The quality and quantity just isn't there, and it certainly doesn't justify the price. It's so awful. I was so upset that I had this meal, and vow to never return. The BBQ beef was not sweet, which it should be. It was bland but also had a vinegar taste to it? They were very thin strips with nothing to them. The meat quality was horrible. The chicken katsu was mostly breading and very little chicken and also extremely bland. The katsu sauce was watery and also no flavor. The mac salad also had no flavor and not the creamy, tuna filled mac I'm used to. It was like they bought it from the Walmart deli or something, which would arguably be better than what this was. The white rice was probably the best part, because how can you mess up white rice? You really can't. The tables were dirty and the trash had not been taken out from the previous day and we were literally the first people in the door when they opened, so there's no excuse for that. Not only that, but if you say your opening time posted on your hours is 10am, then maybe you should open at 10am, NOT 10:15am or anything after that.
Please stay away. It's not worth your hard earned money AND there are way better Hawaiian barbecue places, like Leo's Hawaiian Barbecue. Even Ono is...
Read moreVery good to excellent Hawaiian-Style fast food! I don’t think I have yet to find such good Hawaiian fast-food in the Valley, except for Hula’s! I think that says a lot! for more than half a century starting with a small shop in Kalihi HI to a bunch of locations on the mainland, they offer an assortment of goodies including but not limited to Shrimp, Combos, Kalua Pork & Cabbage, BBQ Chicken, BBQ Beef, SPAM Saimin and my all-time fave Loco Moco. My wife ordered the Katsu Chicken, and both of us were flabbergasted at how exceptional it as. Perfectly crispy, excellent breading seasoning, incredibly tender chicken – just an all-inclusive greatness! It’s tender pieces of deep-fried perfectly breaded and seasoned boneless succulent chicken, with a side of great piquant katsu sauce. My fave dish Loco Moco was savory and delightfully and lightly seasoned hamburger patties over steamed white rice, topped with superbly prepped brown gravy, along with two fresh eggs (any which way – I prefer over-easy), along with a very well-prepared Mac & Cheese. Wow! I hope they open more establishments in the Valley – especially...
Read moreThis place is trash ! DO NOT come here. I’m not sure if it’s a real L&L franchise or a knock off !!! To me it seemed like a knock off wannabe L&L. The place looks like it’s 30-40 years old. It was a waste of my money. They have soy sauce and sriracha in regular bottles marked soy sauce on a piece of tape. So all of us “thousands of us” can share the bottle and pass it around like Covid doesn’t exist. When I walked in the guy didn’t even welcome me or act friendly. My spam wasn’t fully cooked neither was my meat. They gave me more chicken than actual meat on my combo. It doesn’t taste like the franchise L&L barbecue. The restaurant itself doesn’t have the vibe of a L&L restaurant. There was trash on the floor including glass in one corner. A broken window covered with a piece of plywood. They got their own menu. Stuff I’ve never even seen before. Don’t wast your time here. I ate here and it was not welcoming. I’d understand if it wasn’t an L&L restaurant but don’t call it and L&L restaurant because L&L does not...
