We went in today around 3pm for a late lunch. Sat at a table in the bar area. After about 5 minutes we were greeted by our server. She never stated her name but we actually didn’t see her again until we left. I ordered a pint of beer and my husband got a 22oz but I guess she figured we both needed 22oz because that’s what we got. Not really a reason to complain. We have been looking at healthier options and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of options we had. I was excited about the croissant BLTA sandwich because of the avocado and ordered a side of steamed broccoli. When the food came out, the food runner asked us if we needed anything else. I informed her that there was no avocado on the sandwich and then she asked “is there supposed to be avocado on it?”. I just let her know that it said there was on the menu and she asked if it was okay if she just a side of avocado for me. I didn’t want to be a problem so I agreed, however, the sandwich looked like it might fall apart if I tried to Dr it up. While I waited for my side of avocado, we were finally brought out utensils by who I believe was the hostess. I ate the broccoli and noticed some of it might have been old. My husband loved his food!
Weird part: we got our food before we got any utensils. 5 minutes later another woman brought us more forks, even though she could see we had utensils in our hands. What was odd about this was she apologized for not having any clean knifes (so was the knife my husband just given not clean?) and then she just left an extra set of forks on the table even after realizing we had some already. She said we were lucky that we had clean silverware???.... uh
Meanwhile, I waited for 15 minutes to never get avocado and my husband felt weird to eat his food when I wasn’t. We had many people look at us with empty drinks and food pushed to the end of the table and no one cared to stop by and check in, even though they all looked at us many times.
Eventually we stopped the hostess asked her for a side of avocado, a box and the check. I felt bad asking her because I know that was not her job, however, she was very nice and seemed to be more helpful than anyone. We were never rude and typically never complain but this entire experience was just so odd.
We were told by a manager that we could pay on the machine, but we had no check. He quickly changed it and apologized to us.
So this is all I’m asking:
Ask servers to be attentive/check on tables at least once.
Try to get employees to have better menu knowledge. Kind of weird to explain to someone that a menu item that has the word avocado in the name should have avocado in it.
Clean pay machines- I touched something sticky.
We will be back as we do like Red Robin but I think the team might need a little more training. Everyone was nice.
Got home tried to put the avocado on the sandwich, it fell apart so I picked at it. I think next time I will order it with no Mayo. Way too much and I...
Read moreHorrible. My son wanted to celebrate his 6th birthday at Red Robin. So we went with our family to celebrate with yummy burgers. We were seated right away by a very nice young lady who showed us to our table and informed us our sever would be with us shortly. We waited. And waited. And waited. Another group was seated near us and immediately had their drink orders taken. Meanwhile, we still are waiting. I make eye contact with 2 servers, so people are aware we are there. Not to mention the place was not crowded at all. Finally my husband gets up to see what is going on. He comes back and says a server will be with us and whomever he spoke to was sending someone over. I see servers looking at us via the windows in the kitchen. 2 or 3 different people. Finally a waitress comes out and acts if we hadn't expressed we had been sitting there for over 30 minutes with so much as an acknowledgement that we were there. She says "How are we tonight?" I told her better now that we are finally getting some service and that we sat there for quite some time. No response. A blank stare. I then ask for the manager. Waitress shuffles away. We wait for another 5 minutes at least. No manager. At this point we decide to leave. As we are walking out I ask the hostess if the manager was there, she says yes. I explained to her that we were waiting for him to come talk to us. Then another waitress informed us that the manager was on the cook line and that no one knew we were there because they set their tables up differently that night. Despite the fact that everyone in our section was served except for us. It seems this restaurant is under staffed. I can understand that given the world environment currently. However, that is not an excuse to not take care of customers or even apologize for the horrendous service. It really put a damper on our son's big day. We won't visit Red Robin for a while, and we will NEVER visit this location again. Get it together Red Robin! I'm not surprised the...
Read moreWent in with my wife for my birthday. Promptly seated at booth in the bar and then forgotten about. Some girl came by approx 15 min later and said someone should be with you shortly, I'll tell her. (The restaurant was mostly empty) Another 5 or so I got up to find someone and looked towards the kitchen. 4 employees standing around with a plain shirt guy who turned out to be the manager. He said he'd get someone over right away and apologized. Sat back at table, nobody ce over so manager did himself with a pen and scrap paper (not the restaurants tablet the servers use) asking what we wanted to eat - though we hadn't even gotten anything to drink yet! Someone else came over and he motioned them away, then another girl came and took over. I ordered their new premium drink, and what I got was whiskey and ice cubes in a short glass. Considering the name and picture of the drinkbsaid tall glass I asked for the other half of the drink either made in the tall (and more volumness) or a second short one so as not to waste. What I got was a Manhatten tall skinny glass with more ice, still missing the 2 mixers! Food came out quickly and prepared correctly but we were again ignored for any refills of fries, drinks, or to see if everything was ok. I couldn't use the kiosk to order refills as the server never logged it into the table. Finally the he/she bartender came over to tell us about our bill (we aren't done eating yet!). I asked for more fries and wife's refill of speckled lemonade and he/she brought it over quickly. I was then able to pay for my meal on the kiosk and leave. Worst experience at Red Robin ever. Manager needs technical training and management...
