If my wife had rated this Restaurant two months ago it would have gotten 10 stars on the 5 star rating scale! Today, it gets a ZERO but I have to give it a minimum of one based on the Google rating criterion. Based on the absolutely incredible meal that my wife and four of her friends had at this restaurant two months ago back in March we absolutely needed to take our favorite out of town guests to this restaurant for what we believed was going to be an absolutely mouthwatering taste bud extravaganza that would be permanently etched in our memories as was my wife’s’ and her friends first meal here was…WRONG! Ours was THE Absolute WORST Restaurant meal ANY of us had ever eaten!
First off the bread had an “off taste” to it that we couldn’t pin-point…we raised this issue to our wonderful waitress and she concurred that recently something “just wasn’t the same” as before. We let that go and now onto our Chicken Piccata and Shrimp & Sea Scallop Scampi….The Chicken was the absolute lowest budget/quality chicken that we had ever eaten, dry, no texture or flavor and completely lacked any lemon flavoring whatsoever. The Seafood was over breaded and also lacked taste, texture and flavor. None of us finished the meal and promptly reported our dissatisfaction to our waitress who told us to elevate our complaints to “Fran” who was the senior leader in charge at the front desk.
Upon leaving, Fran asked me how our dinner was and I quickly told her that it was likely one of the worst Restaurant meals that any of us had eaten. Since I had forgotten the “EXACT” name of the menu item that the women had ordered I simply referred to their meal as some type of seafood platter with shrimp and scallops, Fran quickly interrupted me and was QUICK to point out that they didn’t offer a “Seafood Platter” on the menu! At this point recognizing that all she wanted to be is confrontational and defensive rather than understand our concerns, offer to “fix” the issue or offer a comp for the meal, I simply turned around and told her “whatever” and left.
For a “High End” Restaurant, the LACK of Service, empathy for the Customer and unwillingness to “go the extra Mile” at the front counter was 100% positively unacceptable. With the countless number of restaurants that offer CONSISTENT high quality food there is ABSOLUTELY ZERO reason for anyone to frequent this establishment, even though you have had an OUTSTANDING meal in the past as my wife and her friends had had. If you want to risk it, don’t say you weren’t forewarned!
This Restaurant is now on our ‘Blacklist” and we are taking every opportunity to tell EVERYONE we come into contact with to AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE and encourage those of you reading this to...
Read moreThis year we decided that a nice and quiet, yet excellent late-night dinner was our goal for New Year’s Eve. We made the excellent choice of enjoying Mancuso’s Restaurant – appreciating their exceptional Staff for not only being there on such a propitious night, but as usual, an excellent dinner offering to boot! Thankyou Stephanie for your bright enthusiasm and fine assistance, we hope to see you again on our return. Their last evening of the year Prefix menu was difficult to choose from the selections – as had many meals there and are familiar with almost everything being excellent. But we had to decide, and so we did with their Orvisto Ruffino Wine by the glass for her and really terrific of their Dirty Martini, the Volgare (vulgar in Italian). Mancuso’s use of Tito’s Vodka makes the drink virtually exude with pizazz, not to mention their Kalamata olive juice, (although blue cheese olives were not available, it was replaced with exceptional garlic-stuffed olives, outstanding). We were sipping while enjoying a super fab rendition of a Wedged Iceberg Salad, while my wife loved a fresh and delectable Caesar Salad. For a main dish I decided on a fantastic rendering of the Lobster Fra Diavolo which was chock full of mouthwatering and deliciously prepped chunks of Lobster tail, plentiful and fresh shrimp, tender scallops, incredible assortment of mussels, tender calamari, and wistful clams – not to mention a wonderfully yet not overbearing spicy marinara atop perfectly made linguini. My wife decided on her favorite fish, the Chilean Sea Bass that was made superbly Sautéed in an exquisite lobster cream sauce, atop luscious linguini alongside perfectly prepped vegetables. We ended the meal with some terrific Crème Brule Cheesecake and Almond Cake - the Espresso rap up goes without saying! We were pleasantly surprised, having been seated by a window, that passers-by, decided to set off their own light show… see my video. It was a year-end culmination unexpected! If you really want to enjoy a quiet, formidable and exquisite meal on NYE, Mancuso’s is a great place to have it. Grandi Avventure and...
Read moreFirstly, I would like to say that I have dined at Mancuso’s previously for a office holiday luncheon and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to bring my husband to experience it. Upon making reservations, we indicated that YES we were celebrating a special occasion- our 17 year wedding anniversary. We were excited about our anniversary dinner. Upon arrival, we were greeted smuggly by the hostess asking ‘can I help you?’ Not a warm or inviting welcome. We told them we had reservations for 6:45 pm and they never bothered to check a list or even smile at that, we were immediately escorted to the bar area where we were shoved in a corner next to a column which was our spectacular view for the night. I would understand being sat in the bar area instead of the dining room HAD we not made prior arrangements! So I didn’t understand why we got sloppy, ‘second hand’ seating for our anniversary dinner. Rafael was our server and he was very knowledgeable and polite. I will take nothing away from his service. I will say however I felt the value for what we ordered was terrible. Our dinner was ridiculously expensive. Our dinner was $200 and we each only ordered one drink and not even a dessert. Way too much and honestly it was ‘just okay’ nothing spectacular. This whole experience didn’t even last an hour, this makes me think they were having a slow night. Again, why were we being treated so poorly when they should have all the time in the world to be treating customers extra special on slow nights. On our way out, I asked the extremely unfriendly hostess to validate our parking ticket and was immediately informed that ‘the internet was down’ and no validations were being provided that evening and as she was shoo-ing us out the door, told us to just ‘push a green button and tell them you ate here tonight and they’ll let you out’ again she was frustrated and annoyed because she had to explain this to us. Never again will we dine at Mancuso’s and will not...
