Awesome fresh donuts.
After 12 years in Medford I tried Puckās donuts this morning-I shared with my wife an Apple fritter and a maple frosted long john. Fresh and tasty.
The bill for 3 donuts was $6.85. This seems expensive because I can remember buying a dozen donuts for a dollar and the 60 years of inflation leading to $2.45 each today.
We tried a few days ago mid morning and Puckās was closed. The owner opened the window and explained that just before we got there a group of teachers had showed up and purchased every donut-that most days last week she was open until 3 or 4 pm to sell out. The business model seems to be open until sold out.
On pricing, Iām happy to pay a price that maybe provides a living wage to the owner. Iāve known far too many business owners over the years that made sub minimum wage when all is said and done. Iām happy to be financially able to buy a donut at Puckās.
The place seems to be run by nice people. I look forward to trying the rest of their donuts. No drive through window. You park and walk in. Eat there...

The Original Pucks was lost in the Almeda fire in 2020, but they rebuilt at the same location and reopened in 2023. Their iconic pink box out front actually survived the fire.
Their donuts are the closest weāve found to Krispy Kreme- which was what our family was used to before moving to Southern Oregon.
They always have a good selection but sometimes they sell out early.
Some weekends weāll take our kiddo still in her jammies and drive over to get her favorite donut: pink frosting with sprinkles. The owners usually sneak in a free donut hole for the little kids when you go.
They have drip coffee and bottles of milk (regular, strawberry, & chocolate) for sale too.
Thereās a few tables inside and a few more outside if you want to eat there. Most people seem to grab and go.
Blue Heron Park is right down the road. They have plenty of covered picnic tables, and a huge new playground (also rebuilt after the fire). Itās a good way to let the kids run off the extra...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAwesome doughnuts, really nice owner (only have met the nice lady, havenāt met her husband/co-owner/baker). Great experience every time Iāve been there the last several years.
Had a very nice conversation with the lady owner about how the virus has affected every aspect of life. Including peopleās ability to go get doughnuts whenever they want as so many of their incomes are affected.
I highly encourage everyone in the Rogue Valley to support Puckās in Phoenix if you have an extra couple dollars and a hankerinā for a doughnut.
Thank you Puckās for making my familyās mornings that much better when we visit southern Oregon!
Hope you enjoy the silly picture I made, my son wouldnāt let me get a picture of both him and the doughnut so I did...
