The focal point of this place-I-like-to-be restaurant is the striking, soaring, glass-encased (but underutilized, read on) wine tower. We like to sit in one of the booths-for-two along the kitchen, so we can watch the action through the half-glass wall. We also like the C-shaped bar and its comfy, oversized stools with great back support, which could lead to too-long visits to the bar. The wooden booths in the middle of the dining room are good for larger groups. The place is decorated with funky chandeliers and a mural above the kitchen vaguely suggesting Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam (or maybe only I see it). The menu offers a diverse selection of starters/shareables, salads, mains and handhelds, and pizza. What I like most about this cool and comfortable restaurant is the homemade potato chips. The chips, which accompany the delicious, fall-off-the bone pork ribs, are thin and crisp and golden, just as they should be. My wife comes for the Go Green or Magic Mushroom pizza, to which she adds braised short ribs, which elevates either pizza to stratospheric heights of pizza beauty and goodness, and I’m not even a pizza guy. Be sure to see the photo. We love the fact that the wines on offer are all $60 or less (we don’t like to spend much money on restaurant wine). We usually have the same server and he always does a great job. Constructive suggestions: 1. Put the short rib pizza on the menu, either on its own or as an optional topping (this is something you could become known for). 2. Offer the potato chips as a starter or shareable, with homemade dip (the only rival chips in town — that I’ve found — are offered by the Culinary Dropout, as a starter). 3. Expand your wine list to offer several more $30-50 bottles to fill that tower! We go regularly. YouTube’s...

We decided to try somewhere new for brunch and unfortunately the atmosphere, coffee, and bottomless mimosas weren't enough to counter the disappointing experience handled by the wait staff and, ultimately, management. We were asked to move from our table to the bar to make room for a large reservation. This was no inconvenience and the hostess offered to provide us "desserts on the house". We happily obliged moving and were handed dessert menus. We ordered 4 desserts between the 6 of us. After a short wait, 5 desserts were delivered to our table. We accepted the fifth, assuming it was just a part of compensating our move. After about an hour we requested our checks and told the bar staff that the hostess had told us they were comping dessert. She asked the manager, who then approached us and communicated that she'd placed an order for two desserts and that they were not going to cover "7 desserts" despite their staff's misleading communication and no explanation to us that orders for the desserts had already been placed. Ultimately, we ended up paying for 2 of the 4 desserts that we never would have ordered.

A disappointing experience considering it was the house's mistake. It was difficult to shake the poor customer service administered by management and we will not be returning because of this.

As far as the food, it was overpriced surely for what we got. Veggie frittata with no veggies and mushy skillet potatoes. Half of our meals were decent, but most of our portions weren't what you'd expect...

I really wanted to love this place. I’ve been here 3 times. The last one was not my choice but I figured I’d give it another chance. We had a reservation and had to wait 10 minutes while others walked in and were seated before us! The ambiance is beautiful but the A/C wasn’t working! It was 113 degrees out and felt like 100 degrees inside! Right away, we inquired about this and they said they had problems with their A:C. This did not make the wait for the table and the long wait for the food any easier. The portions are tiny and the service was extremely slow with no apologies. Our simple lunch took over 2 hours with the waits. The server never checked on us. He forgot to bring my side I ordered. My friends were finished with their meal while I was still waiting for the ketchup so, I could enjoy my meal. We couldn’t find the server to flag down, Never did get my side dish. Food was salty and tiny portion for the price. This is the strike for me now. The service was slow the other two times I was here. The last time I was annoyed the server charged me $4 for a slice of bread! The first time I was here, they had just opened and were disorganized. I would expect they would have their act together now but don’t seem to. Too bad because we live near by and the decor is so nice. I might come back to just get a drink at the bar when it’s cooler outside and don’t mind not having...

Let me start out by saying this place has got great atmosphere if you're actually sitting in the main part of the restaurant. When we arrived and gave the hostess our name, she looked at the chart and looked at her counterpart and rolled her eyes. I thought that was odd until we were led to our table. It was a two person table against a wall that was partway down a walkway to the restroom. (See photo of my view and compare it to other photos of the restaurant). In my mind, that table should not even exist. We really didn't get to enjoy the vibe of the restaurant because we were cast aside. Not to mention I am not sure what's behind the wall we were sitting parallel to but there was banging against the wall every once and a while. The tomato soup was really tasty and the short rib ravioli was very good as well. The beef dip sandwich was ok but nothing to write home about. In general, nothing was piping hot, just warm. The place was very busy and I think our food sat for a while before it was served to us. Our experience could have been a lot better but as it stands we wouldn't go back, There are too many great choice in Phoenix to settle for a less than pleasant experience.
