I was very excited to bring my family here today and had been talking up for several days how great the food was. Unfortunately we had a bad enough experience I will never get my family to return. Half my party ordered immediately after I did but their food came long after we were completely done eating. When it did come, theirs was all in cardboard to-go containers instead of on plates although we were sitting in a booth. They were told “we’re too busy to plate your food” although there were very few people in the cafe. They were also given plastic utensils, so my DIL went up to the counter and nicely asked for a metal knife and fork so she could cut the food up more easily for her 3 year old. She was told: “no! This is a coffee shop not a restaurant!” This in spite of the fact that all other customers including those of us at the table were eating on plates, using metal utensils. I calmly spoke to manager/employee Tiana at the end of our meal to ask her if she could explain why we had this negative experience. I really did not want to give up on this place and was hoping she could apologize. They were short staffed, however she made it clear to me that their Door Dash customers were of much greater importance/priority than those of us who actually got in our cars to patronize the business in person. She made it clear she resented talking to me and did not make me feel any better about the rudeness we encountered, and she actually made the situation worse. I won’t patronize a business who treats my family and me with...
Read moreI have ordered from here a few times (both pick up and delivery) and my review is an average of those visits. The reason for the three star review has to do with the inconsistencies in each of my orders. I've ordered the chorizo egg breakfast croissants 3 times and two of those times the puffs came over baked with the filling hard and inedible. They were delicious on the one occasion. I have also ordered a 12 box of mini croissants for my work. The chocolate croissants were flaky and tender but the pumpkin spice ones were tough. My berry smoothie was delicious but was barely blended and had huge chunks of ice cubes left in the cup. I have ordered the kale chicken cranberry salad twice. The first time I was pleasantly suprised at how good the salad was, as I am not usually a fan of kale. It was wonderful! Unfortunately the second time was a let down. In the first salad the kale leaves were cut small, the second time the leaves were large and I spent a bit of time picking out large chunks of the tough center ribs of the kale. I have run into similar inconsistencies in the croissants used for the sandwiches...sometimes they are flaky and other times tough.
Overall great concept but it's important for customers to know what they are going to get each...
Read moreIt was an incredibly pleasant surprise to find this place. I work at TruFusion just north of here and have always wished there was a non-Starbucks coffee shop closer.
Squarz is like a blend of coffee shop and restaurant, with a large indoors seating area literally split in half - one side with tables and chairs meant more for having a meal, the other side with couches, sofa chairs, coffee tables, and cool, artsy decorations.
I ordered a "spiced cold brew," which uses typical coffee spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, etc. - I didn't get the exact recipe) in it's brewing. I enjoyed it, but I drank it black and think it might be something that's better with some milk or cream.
There were a couple enticing local craft beers on tap, as well as kombucha. They serve wine as well but I didn't see if that was on tap. And I also noticed mimosas and peach sangria featured near the breakfast part of their menu.
The assortment of pastries - primarily croissants - is mind-blowing (and mouth-watering). I can't wait to come back and try one.. or more.. of them. I didn't pay much attention to the food menu, but based on such a positive experience, I'd like to try a full meal here as well.
Last but certainly not least, they had a board listing a bunch of cool events...
