The Joy Bus Diner is hands-down one of the best places to eat in Phoenix, not just because the food is incredible, but because the mission behind it is truly something special. This isn’t just a diner. It’s a nonprofit with heart. Their entire mission is centered around supporting homebound cancer patients by delivering fresh, healthy meals right to their doors, all prepared by professional chefs. On top of that, The Joy Bus also provides valuable education on nutritious eating for those battling cancer. Every dollar you spend here helps fund that mission. It’s dining with a purpose, and that purpose couldn’t be more powerful. Now let’s talk about the food… Everything here is top notch. The menu is stacked with comfort classics done right, and you can taste the love in every bite. This morning, my wife had the chorizo burrito (house made chorizo next level), and I went with the chorizo plate and a waffle. Absolutely unreal. The tortillas? Out of this world. Fresh, flavorful, and taste like they are made in house. I’ve been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal. They just moved to 32nd Street and Shea, and it’s already one of the best diners in Phoenix. The space is bright, welcoming, and filled with good energy. And let’s not forget the staff, the service is always warm and personal. From what I understand, the servers are volunteers, donating their time because they believe in the mission. That says everything. You can feel the community here. It’s not just a meal, it’s an experience. Shout out to everyone at The Joy Bus Diner. What you do matters. Keep feeding the body and the soul. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out. Go hungry and leave inspired.

We were out in this area after a nice morning hike and picked this place the night before to try out after the hike. Fun fact, I now know where the Joy Bus Beer hails from. Lol. This is a nice little diner that supports a great cause. Cancer awareness and support. Basically, it is a totally non-profit, and all proceeds go directly to help cancer patients with meals as they recover and go into remission. The diner was spawned from Joy's personal battle with cancer. The owner is a close friend of Joy who came up with this venture to support cancer patients. The chef is also an award winning chef. The meals are rotated from time to time as well. How cool is that? I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with tangy slaw. Simply divine. If you can finish it all, you are a trooper. My girl had the classic Belgian waffle with thick cut hickory bacon on the side. It had a mouthwatering appeal. Morgan, our server was very well versed in the menu and kept us entertained with her humor. They also have t-shirts and plants that can be purchased for the cause. So go on over there and support our local diamond in the rough Joy's Bus Diner!!!

Local. Laudable mission. But don’t come just for the feels. The food is 1000% legit. The service is friendly, and the prices are good. Always loved the Joy Bus, but first time at the new location. It’s spacious and airy, but still expect a little wait as it’s quite popular. The star of the show was definitely the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was uniquely fabulous, and topped with perfectly over easy eggs… OMG. The chorizo & eggs were solidly done and served with an amazing peppery salsa. Combined with the warm tortilla that had that just right texture, I was sent back to some of my happiest childhood days, decades ago, eating Mexican breakfast favorites on opening day of dove season at Headquarters in Maricopa. Great food can do that. The Belgian waffle was reminiscent of a beignets (a wonderful thing), and the lemony poppy pancakes were as good as any in the valley. I highly recommend The Joy Bus. You’re supporting a great cause, and you’re getting an amazing meal that is somehow a few bucks less than other top-notch breakfast places (like Perk or Matt’s).

I’m pretty disappointed with the experience we just had at this place. My girlfriend and I went to breakfast here this morning and decided to sit at the bar.

Our server took our drink orders, mine was a Diet Coke, her’s was A Spicy Bloody Mary ……they were out of Diet Coke and we were told they have no liquor license. Which is odd because they have Alcoholic beverages on their menu.

I ordered the two egg breakfast which was mediocre at best, She ordered chicken and a biscuit which she didn’t enjoy at all. When our food came, I asked for hot sauce, she asked for side of ranch, we were informed they were out of ranch as well.

The sever must have read the look on my face after being out of a 3rd item requested because she then informed us they’re a nonprofit organization, and they only work with only donated items. As she rolled her eyes turned around walked away making hand gesture like I was being difficult.

All we wanted was have a nice breakfast before we went to work. The 3 items that they were out of should be consider staple items in a diner.

The Joybus behind the scenes story is incredible and I’d like to personally, thank you for supporting the community.

However, I’d hate for your name to be tarnished because of bad customer service in your for...
