Tikka Shack Indian Grub — Restaurant in Phoenix

Updated review: Ordered from here twice again because of promotions, and now it’s the inconsistency for me. One time was really good and I thought they must’ve made improvements overall since they were pretty new when I first ordered. I got veggies with my dish instead of chicken this time, some garlic naan that didn’t taste weird, and masala fries which was a nice treat. I did the same exact order the second time and the masala fries were kind of cold and flavor was different including the sauce they give you, the garlic naan was just okay, and the dish was spicier even though I didn’t order it differently. I don’t think I’ll be trying this place again for at least a very long time.

Original 3 stars review from 2 years ago: Was debating between 3 or 4 stars. I wish the rice came separately in another container. I ended up having extra sauce and meat with no more rice. I picked chicken and thought the portion of chicken was good. I did think the chicken was on the dry side, but dousing it in the sauce made it better. As for the naan, this was the first garlic naan that I wasn’t fond of flavor wise. It’s as if they scooped some store bought minced garlic on there and I really tasted the tang and texture of the garlic. Would be nice to not have so many pieces of minced garlic to chew with the naan and more of just the flavor. I would’ve enjoyed it more if the naan was plain and I never thought I’d say that. As for the shack naan, I liked it better than the garlic one, but I really don’t care to order it again either. I am torn between three and four stars. There are a lot of positives but not sure they out weigh the mediocre, not bad, but mediocre.

We ordered- -chicken/paneer tikka masala -chicken/paneer butter masala -paneer/veggie korma -garlic naan -riata

The positive- -staff is super friendly -great online ordering system -I made a lot of changes and my order was correct (this in itself is amazing!) -good pricing plus coupons -option to order multiple proteins made it so my husband could eat the chicken and I could eat the veggies and paneer and try multiple sauces -the rice was good -for $0.25 adding garlic naan to each meal was a nice addition -the korma was my favorite, I would order all cauliflower and no green beans, just as a preference, not as a complaint -the paneer was nicely cooked in all sauces -portions were good -pleasantly surprised that rice came with each meal when I thought the garlic naan was replacing the rice, not in addition to

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This is hands down one of the best Indian food spots in all of Phoenix. The moment you walk into the Tikka Shack at Happy Valley, you can feel the difference. It’s not just the two young ladies running the front with professionalism and grace it’s also the kitchen team working hard behind the scenes. The cooks consistently prepare every dish to perfection. You can taste the love and precision in every bite.

Customer service here is just the icing on the cake. The two ladies at the front are always polite, always moving, and make sure every order is handled quickly and accurately even when it’s packed. They truly set the tone for a welcoming and efficient experience.

My go-to is the Tikka Masala and the Biryani Wings both full of rich flavor and cooked perfectly every time. I usually pair it with their strawberry drink, which hits the spot every single visit.

The location is clean, modern, and very curb-appealing. I also appreciate the automated ordering system and the points program I’m always racking up enough rewards to get something free, which keeps me coming back.
