Low ratings EXCEPT the food. Have you ever met a french bakery that doesn't have amazing food? Me either! The food's amazing. I don't write reviews b/c everyone has bad days & people & places can be "off". My 1st experience-so it needs to be posted b/c the owner, Benito, had nothing but "reasons" for our nightmare experience. The service, our waitress was Yani. SHE NEEDS A NEW JOB! Her indifference was in full swing & her laziness was outstanding. Enough said! Finally, when she comes over & I tried to explain our frustration she tells us that she was "super busy", & I should understand. It's Thanksgiving weekend & school is out so families are out for holiday-things. How about bringing on a few more waitresses to accommodate the heavy holiday traffic? We watched 2 tables (4 more people) seated AFTER us & get food delivered b/f us. BUT they didn't have Yani for a waitress! They have about 65 tables, seating 2 & 4 people, maybe there were 10 empty seats on average in the 45 minutes we were there. Tried to order an almond croissant. Out of both almond & chocolate, on a holiday weekend! REALLY? The owner tells me they only make 30 almond croissants/day & they decided to have 40 for today. He "explained" it was based on "the metrics" & he owns all 7 locations. That is what I want to hear about, "the metrics". 40 almond croissants, out at 10:30-ish & opened at 7:30-ish & all 40 gone. OK-REALLY? In 3 hours with 65 tables, on average 55 people x 3 hours. IF ONLY 5 almond croissants are ordered (which is a very low estimate but I gave him the benefit of the doubt) that is 15 croissants, so based on his "metrics" the remaining 25 should be enough throughout the morning & up until 2:30 pm, by closing. He also says there are Uber Eats & other delivery services. So, REALLY they are serving WAY MORE than 55 people on average/hour. I can understand maybe by noon, but come on, this is only 3 hours after opening! And, no chocolate either, 3 hours after opening, only 40 almond & 50 chocolate? He tells me they only made 250 croissants FOR TODAY - AT A FRENCH BAKERY & in multiple flavors. He says, as a rule, they only make 200 croissants/day. Also, he says they added 50 more for the holiday & based on his "metrics" & the other 7 locations which should be sufficient. Again, REALLY they only make 20/day & AT A FRENCH BAKERY! This is Pinecrest, a family oriented location, on a holiday weekend. I am struggling to understand when I asked him to think about it as a customer, I kept getting the "reason" as "the metrics" for an explanation, involving all 7 locations. It is a french bakery so REALLY? I haven't met a french bakery that doesn't have amazing food. This one is no exception. But food isn't the only consideration for a restaurant & its business plan. I attempted to explain Yani's indifference & her "explanations" & he gives me, "it's busy"! OK, it's busy & you know this & now I am supposed to understand why 40 almond croissants are out as well as chocolate. This is to help me get over my frustration? REALLY? He asks me what if they made too many, "should they throw them out"? What happened to donating leftover food to a shelter? That would be thoughtful & kind, but hey, profit is more important these days than people. But I HIGHLY doubt there are leftover croissants on any given day, ESPECIALLY on a holiday weekend, on location & including delivery services. Regarding the atmosphere, the tables are WAY too close together & severely crowded which makes for a seriously claustrophobic experience. But I do understand the need to make "the metrics" of table ratio to square footage profitable. I could get over this if I had just been able to get my almond croissant! Seems petty I know. BUT, they are phenomenal! They ARE AMAZING! I was careful to be respectful & kind in my my mannerism b/c everyone can have an "off" day, people & businesses. But the experience went from bad to poor to a nightmare in a crowded & cacophonous atmosphere. Try...
Read moreWe walked over from the park so my eldest could have breakfast. Was with my father and my 1 year old too. We got sat outside in a table for 2 and we were 4. I didn’t complain because most of us weren’t eating so why bother the host. My son ordered the French toast which I thought for sure was a child portion when it came out considering it was the smallest thinnest slices I have ever seen of French toast. I don’t even think it was brioche. Turns out it was the full portion. I had to try it because it’s a French bakery and as I suspected it didn’t take like anything. My French toast is 100x better. Anyways I didn’t eat anything and neither did my 1 year old because we had breakfast early before the park. We will never go back. I don’t understand how they have over 4 stars. I rated it 1 star because it was convenient across the street from my house and from the park. Got charged an 18% service fee because we were a party of 4. We didn’t even get offered water! The waiter brought it only for the person that ordered food. It was fine because I had water for my baby in his diaper bag but to charge a service fee when there was no service is redic. Most restaurants bring or atleast offer water for the baby. Quite comical considering most of us didn’t eat and we got sat in a 2 seater table. Anyhow we will never be back and I’ll be sure to tell my neighbors. Also, we witnessed an argument over someone who parked on the “wrong side” like who cares the restaurant is literally connected and part of the shopping center. Management needs to be made aware or maybe they know and don’t care. Who knows. All I know is we will never be back and I should’ve listened to my dad who told me it wasn’t...

La Bulgari & Pinecrest Breakfast Spot - 5 Stars
I recently visited La Boulangerie in Pinecrest, eager to enjoy their renowned breakfast. Though I couldn't stay, I was impressed by the ambiance and the welcoming vibe as soon as I arrived. The place was packed, and it was clear that it's a popular spot unfortunately, there were no available seats, and the wait time was a bit too long for my schedule. I’m disappointed I couldn’t stay this time, but from past visits, I know their food is top-notch, with every dish bursting with flavor. The service is always fantastic; even today, the staff were warm and attentive, despite the crowd. I highly recommend La Boulangerie for anyone seeking a delicious breakfast experience in Pinecrest. I'll...
