I just left today 10/18/23. I’ve been eating here for years as i work close by. Today i decided to try something other than my regular ceviche that i order. so i ordered the octopus causau. i love octopus and potatoes and everything that it includes. When the meal got the my table i was excited and i took a bite. not to exaggerate but my friend was laughing at me because i was trying to swallow without putting into a Napkin. It had one of the fishiest, bay harbor tastes I’ve tasted in a really long time. I immediately extremely apologetically and embarrassingly told our waiter. it wasn’t a matter of preference but i could not eat it, as it tasted terrible. Fresh seafood doesn’t taste like lukewarm salmon:) my friend finishes his meal, they ask me if i want anything to replace it and i said no thank you. (I lost my appetite to order anything related to seafood now) so now I’ve been hear for an hour had 3 glasses of water and nothing to eat and they bring me the check with the casau and. Tell me i have to pay for it. I kindly ask the manager over. i explain to him what happened and how i eat at this location very often. and never had an issue with my food. I told him the food didn’t taste right and his reply is “well that’s how octopus taste” as if it is my first time eating octopus 🤣🤣🤣 he told me i could take the food home if i wanted. I told him if it taste terrible in here just made why would i want to eat it at my house. The manager said too bad that that’s their policy. I didn’t make a scene, say anything rude calmly paid for the food i did not eat and left a $4 tip(because it’s not the waiters fault, and it definitely had nothing to do about money) To which the waiter who was a witness to everything apologized on behalf of her boss and said how horrible you have to pay for not eating. Moral of the story. The manager was willing to not have a returning customer over a $7 profit plate. I’m sure their business will be fine but I’m never eating at a dr limon again. Do with that what you will, they obviously don’t know how to build a brand and retain customers. :) hungry and...

The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and inviting: warm lighting, stylish decor, and a subtle energy that makes you want to linger. I started off with their salmon roll sushi, and it was an incredible first impression. The fish was fresh, the rice was perfectly seasoned, and the presentation was clean and elegant. It was the kind of bite that makes you pause and appreciate how good simple things can be when done right. We also ordered tostones rellenos which were nice and crispy and generously topped and beautifully presented with their special fish paste.
For our main meals we had the Carne Flameada, and wow, what a dish! It arrived sizzling, tender, and full of rich, smoky flavor. This was served with perfectly cooked white rice and a side of nice and crunchy French fries. It was a great dish, for those with a serious appetite who do not want to sacrifice taste and freshness in any way.
But the true highlight of my night had to be the grilled octopus. I’ve had octopus at a lot of restaurants, and this one stood out. It was cooked to absolute perfection with just the right char on the outside and a melt-in-your-mouth texture. It was flavorful, balanced, and plated beautifully. It is served with potatoes and peppers. The size of the octopus ensures it is an entire meal.
And let’s not forget the cocktails. They were creative, refreshing, and strong without overpowering the flavors of the food. Every drink we tried was crafted with attention to detail, and the bartender clearly knows what they're doing.
The service was excellent throughout the night. Friendly, attentive staff made us feel welcomed and taken care of without being overbearing. Every question was met with knowledge and a smile, and you could tell the team takes pride in what they do.
Overall, Ocean and Flame delivered on every level: food, drinks, service, and ambiance. It’s the kind of place you can go for a special occasion or just a memorable night out. I’ll...
Read moreNot the type to leave bad reviews especially since I usually go to this restaurant. The first time were great until my recent visit was the worst of worst 0/10. Went in for lunch and sat there un-noticed for close to 10 minutes. Two waiters were more into watching the soccer game then attend to guests ,they glanced multiple times toward me and my husband but nothing. After the waiter finally decided to acknowledge me and my husband. He asked what we would like. We didn’t have water , nor menus infront of us for those 10 minutes The busser was the one to bring us some water and cancha with leche de Tigre, was the one to pick up our plates and ask how was everything and Gave us the container to take our food home. I only saw my waiter one time in the entire time I was there for my husband BIRTHDAY lunch and that was to ask what I want to eat. That’s it.Worst of all my entree came out as I was taking a second bite out of my appetizer. The dirty appetizer plate sat there until the end of eating my meal. And who I know is the General manager was sitting with guests watching the soccer game and waiters as well while dirty plates sat in multiple tables. The only person ACTUALLY WORKING was the young lady busser. I’ve been in the industry for 5+ years. I don’t find my title to be superior . Especially when it’s slow I clean and buss the tables myself but OBVIOUSLY these servers cared less of their job and image of their workplace. Carlos Brescia should obviously look into improving his staff because their not representing whatever image he wants for his restaurants. What his management team and servers teams reflect of his restaurant is their lazy, and care less to give good hospitality...
