Hey Friends! Another review, this time Huey Magoo's Pinellas Park location. My father in law wanted to eat there, one of his favorite spots. Let's get into it...at first glance, a fast food chicken restaurant with a focus on good chicken meat. They pride themselves on the tenderloin of the chicken aka the filet mignon part of the chicken. So, I ordered a Buffalo chicken sandwich with fries, the Mrs order a chicken salad with ranch dressing, the kids got the two tender meal with fries and an apple juice and in-laws shared an 8 piece meal. While we waited we sat down at one of their table top seats, the kids wanted to sit there. I noticed the table was a Lil tacky....maybe, because of too much cleaner. It was clean, just tacky. Lessen on the cleaner, I feel. Our food was delivered by Danielle, the crew manager and another team member. She wanted to ensure everything looked right and it did. At first glance, the food looked appealing. Golden brown, good sized tenders, hot crinkle cut fries and the sauces. Now, let's talk about the good, needs improvement and the bad....My Buffalo sandwich was unreal. Tender bun with drenched Buffalo hot sauce, lettuce and cheese. The sauce had a Lil blue cheese drizzle. The sandwich was fresh and good. The fries were hot and had good strong seasoning. It was too spicy for my wife and kids. You may want to ask them to nix it for kids. My in-laws tenders were tender and juicy. The Garlic Parmeasan was unreal...you could lick it off anywhere lol. Lastly, they came out with a new blue raspberry lemonade, I just wanted to try a Lil taste. The crew member gave me a small cup... the plain lemonade was really good. The blue raspberry lemonade was incredibly sweet. I mean too sweet. A little off putting...The sweet tea, unsweetened tea and watermelon teas are fresh brewed. They were okay. Nothing special. Now, the improvement... I didn't find out about the seasoning situation until after we ate but you can have grilled, fried tenders. To lessen the seasoning, you just need to ask. They will season lightly per request and on one side of the grilled chicken too. For the fries, just ask and they will cut down on the seasoning too. Now, the bad...my wife salad was lack luster. The tenders were there but there was way too much lettuce with very Lil to go with it...She had a few bad tomatoes in her bowl. It was just blah. The dressings are .79 per extra dressing or sauce. That's alot for a blah salad. The price was $51.00 for what we paid for. Was it worth it? Maybe. Would I go back? Possibly but the crew needs to be more welcoming and helpful besides Danielle. If you dealing with a first time customer, say, " Welcome to Magoo's. Happy you decided to dine with us. Is this your first time or you've been here before? Take a look at the menu. I'm here to help you with any questions ". The difference between Magoo's and Chick FIL A are two main keys. One is the chicken, to me, the chicken is better at Magoo's, yes, I said that but the service except for Danielle is better at Chick FIL A. You choose where you want to eat. We all work hard for our money. We choose to spend our money and hopefully have a great dining experience. So, it's up to you...Until next time friends, enjoy what...
Read moreI decided to stop by Magoo's for lunch with my kids, and it was my first visit to this restaurant. The three of us had a satisfying meal, and the bill came in at less than $25, which was quite a good value. Our lunch included a generous serving of fries, three large chicken strips, and some delicious Texas toast. However, I couldn't help but notice that, unfortunately, I ended up with the smallest portion of fries among us, which was a bit disappointing.
Before I walked in, I didn't know much about Magoo's, but it turned out to be a unique chicken dining experience. They proudly advertise using the chicken tenderloin, often referred to as the filet mignon of chicken, which immediately sets them apart. This particular visit was a dine-in lunch outing with my two beautiful daughters, and while we waited for our order, I couldn't help but admire the cleanliness and upscale ambiance of the restaurant. It's definitely a cut above your typical chicken joint. The decor exudes a modern and industrial vibe, and it's evident that the management takes great care in maintaining the restaurant's presentation.
When my name was called, and our meals were served, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Magoo's lived up to its advertising. The chicken tenders were indeed tender, crispy, and absolutely delicious. Despite the bold claims of using quality ingredients displayed on the walls, the actual flavor experience matched our expectations.
During our meal, a person who I believe was the manager came over to check on us. I gave her a double thumbs-up because my taste buds were too occupied savoring the delightful flavors. I'm definitely looking forward to returning to Magoo's to try out their chicken sandwiches. This dining experience left a positive impression, and I'm excited to explore more of their offerings...
Read more27 dollars and change WOW đ˛ we have went to the Huey Magoo's in Orlando and they were phenomenal and chicken tenders were adequate size.
We ordered 2 five piece tender meals one breaded and one grilled. The grilled tenders were the smallest tenders I have ever seen. I got a picture of one and then we got no coleslaw and was supposed to get extra fries that didn't happen either. Pictures is the amount of fries I got. Most of them were burnt and uneatable. I think they even messed up the saucing of the tenders because it was not like normal garlic Parm def had another flavor on it.
On top of all that the customer service was horrible the receipt says drivethru "Beli" idk if that's her name or not but she was so rude. We pulled up and saw her making my wife's drink and she put in root beer instead of Dr pibb so when she got to the window we asked her are you sure you put Dr pibb and she goes yes it's Dr pibb. My wife takes a sip and low and behold its root beer so we had to get the drink remade also. She just grabbed the drink did not apologize and redid it.
Once we finally had everything the girl didn't even say have a great night, have a nice day, thank you nothing at all.
We will never be back to this location again. Customer service is everything if your not cut out for it just...
