Sadly very disappointing. I wanted to support this but if you know anything about authentic Chinese food you’ll know this is just not it. The jianbing is a favorite in China, simple and classic. I’m not sure why this place feels compelled to put lettuce in it, where is the cilantro?? With the lettuce it honestly tastes like a meatless hamburger. It was a mess to eat too, very loose and floppy. I feel bad for the people who are trying this for the first time because this is not a good representation of a staple Chinese meal. I also would not recommend the sausage jianbing. It’s $3 extra and there is barely any sausage.
The other almost insulting thing is calling their dumplings “homemade”. I’ve bought enough frozen dumplings from the Chinese grocery store to able to say that these look/taste/feel exactly like it. Tragic.
The “spicy” crispy chicken was pure salt and zero spicy. Portion size was teeny tiny for the price. Even if there was more it would have been hard to eat given how salty it was.
Overall a sad food...
Read moreI tried their food when Alley51 1st opened and even recommended it to others but the quality 2 yrs later has changed. The orange chicken is not the quality from before. The texture of the meat seems off to me as well as the flavor of the sauce. I specifically went out of our area because I thought this Chinese restaurant would separate themselves from the typical "take out" places that I don't like. Sad to see they are charging so much and lowering...
Read moreI ordered the honey chicken and the meat was not enjoyable- tough and stringy. The system that sends out text messages when your order is done didn't seem to work because I got all of the messages much later in the day. They couldn't even part with a cheap to-go container I requested for a friend's take home...
