I’m changing my review Take out is their business. Sent my husband for halo halo at $7.00. I wanted only the ice separated as it would melt and water it down by the time it got home. So the attached photos is what I got. Also 1 1/2ā€ of fruits in a separate cup they had 1 tablespoon of ube & a 1x1 inch square of flan. so I have maybe a total of 2ā€ of stuff that goes in halo halo. But they did not include evaporated milk! Now I have to go out and get evaporated milk?? Bottom line is they did it wrong and I won’t ever order this from them again. Their food is over priced, Halo halo is an epic fail from this place that only gets take out! Their food is pretty good but quite pricey for what you get and comparing to Filipino takeout restaurants in the state. The amount of food they give you is not consistent. I have ordered 1 item 3 different times and each time the amount of protein varies. 1st time the amount of protein is good then the next time it’s less the 3rd time was only half of the original one I ordered. You get about a cup of rice and their side of veggie is boiled/ microwaved frozen peas and corn. Veggies seem to be an odd pairing. They have ā€˜specials’ that change daily on a board.that stands on their counter. So if you want to know you what it is for the day, you will have to go there and see. They claim that they post it daily on social media but it is inconsistent. Hopefully they will become more consistent in time

Where to begin? I was a bit skeptical when i heard about it from friends who went to Alley 51 based off instagram. Don’t dismiss it for its small stall…if you know Asian food, the good ones are from the streets, probably globally. We got a couple of things - rice with 2 sides combo: Lechon kawali & Adobo …both excellent! ; Palabok…sensational despite me being more used to the thinner noodles; Halo-Halo…do i have to say what relief it provided against this hot/humid weather? The best part was a surprise off menu drink…i highly recommend putting this on the menu at least for the summer, it’s a Filipino boba for the uninitiated. Thank you so much, it reminded me of the kind souls Filipinos are known for and flew me back to Manila for a moment. The food had a no ā€˜gimmick’ authentic taste. The only thing that threw me off was, there was a small ā€˜salsa’. The Lechon was crisp devoid of the ā€˜oil’ which tends to bring that oily after taste and the adobo chicken was tender and juicy. Did i mention Halo-Halo? My only wish was a bigger scoop of Ube ice cream and huge leche flan portion …who wouldn’t? Then you head to the Asian grocery store next door, you don’t know how much it will save you in your grocery bills when your belly is happy. We recommended the store to a Filipino family at the grocery store and minutes later, they were found chomping on the halo-halo. Do i have to say more when the Filipinos are enjoying this place?

This is the first and only family-owned authentic Filipino cuisine food hall in the Charlotte area whose menu serves variety Filipino dishes that's similar to your mother and grandmother's recipes back home. If you've never had Filipino cuisine, I would suggest start with chicken adobo (bone-in chicken marinated in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic and bay leaves served with steamed Jasmine rice), pansit bihon (stir-fried noodles with chicken and vegetables), beef tapa (marinated beef strips) served with garlic rice. They have a new "boodle fight" box which you can get at a very reasonable price. Especially if you can't decide what to get - this is such a deal! The staff is very warm and friendly, their decor are pieces from Philippine history with a portrait of their national hero Jose Rizal. The mural created by a family member and was inspired by their hometown in Manila which is the capital of the Philippines. Their prices are fair. Their dishes are cooked fresh daily using locally-sourced ingredients. Highly recommended so please visit them at Alley 51 next to Super G mart in Pineville to get your Filipino food fix! This was by far one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve ever had. I visited Manila Grill for the first time and ordered 3 bowls of Sisig with rice, expecting a delicious, meaty Filipino dish I’ve enjoyed many times at various restaurants—especially in Virginia, where the Filipino community takes pride in quality and authenticity.

What I received was not Sisig—it was a greasy, unappetizing bowl of mostly fat. I’m talking about chunks of pork fat with barely any actual meat. Not only was this disgusting to eat, but it was also completely misleading. Their menu claims the dish includes pork loin—false advertising at its finest, because there was none to be found in any of the bowls I paid for.

When I brought this to the staff’s attention, I was met with indifference and a cold ā€œNo refundsā€ response. There was zero accountability and even less customer care. They clearly don’t stand behind their food or care if customers are unsatisfied. I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable—I just didn’t want to pay for a bowl of flavored fat.

Let this be a warning to anyone thinking about trying this place: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Manila Grill clearly cuts corners and doesn’t care about delivering quality or accurate representation of...
