This is not the Bo' we have been waiting for, very disappointed in them, first they didn't have any bone in chicken. It ain't Bo' without the bones. Their chicken tenders are so thin, can barely taste the chicken, they mostly breading. Honestly, we barely touch the Tenders. With the 20 pc chicken TENDERS we got? We barely ate 3 pcs of it. It's not Bo' they using it's name.
Their sweet tea isn't as sweet as we used to get down south, it is so watered down.
The mac and cheese? My daughter said the kraft ones tasted better than their mac and cheese.
Coleslaw is not cold at all, and looks so watered down.
The dirty rice is overcooked, no flavor and not the dirty rice I have been craving for months knowing a branch of our best vacation meals are coming to our own neighborhood.
Oh, their sides? When you go down south and go to them real Bojangles, their sides container is full as in sometimes they won't even close properly. But this with their outrageous prices? Our sides are only 3/4 filled!
Do yourself a favor, come back when they realize what they doing. And bring the real south chicken up here.
It's their opening day, their prices are so high. For $60, for 20 pc mostly breading chickentenders, 4 tubs of 3/4 filled sides, watered down sweet tea, Kraft mac and cheese, mushy dirty rice.
Go drove another 3/4 of a mile and just go to popeyes and get a real bone in chicken, for a fraction of the cost.
One more thing, if you decide to just go and do the hype. Check your receipt. They ain't charging right either.
They gave us promotiona gift card the other day and when we used it to pay last night. They have not used the gift card and charge the whole amount to our credit card. And they are trying to give back the gift to us. Which I declined to accept. So they gave me...
Read moreThe hype was real AF when Bojangles announced it was coming to Jersey. As someone who grew up making it a must-stop during every visit to North Carolina, I had high hopes. But this location? It missed the mark—badly.
First red flag? No bone-in chicken. For a brand built on its crispy, Cajun-seasoned chicken, that’s unacceptable. Staff even seemed confused. I get it—it’s opening week, but if you can’t debut your core item, why open?
We ordered a 20-piece tender combo with four sides, biscuits, and two half-gallon drinks. It came to about $56 before tax. The drinks were warm, the lemonade tasted powdered, and the food was mid at best. Tenders were fine but forgettable. Coleslaw was limp and watery. The dirty rice? Overcooked, mushy, and stripped of what usually makes it great—no sausage, no bold flavor.
Tried the Bo-Berry Biscuits and peach cobbler for the first time too. They were just okay. Nothing worth raving about or revisiting. Total cost after tax? $69.69. For what felt like a grown-up kids’ meal.
And let’s be real—this location is surrounded by Popeyes, Chick-fil-A, KFC, and even Crown’s Chicken down the road, where you’ll get crispy wings, fries, and a drink for less. Hell, even ShopRite across the street puts out solid chicken after 6 PM—seasoned and bone-in. That says a lot.
The Google rating dropped from 3.9 to 3.2 within 48 hours. That’s a 64%—a solid D. Five points from an F. And that’s with the opening hype.
To the owners: If you’re going to bring a Southern staple like Bojangles up north, bring it right. Don’t cut corners. Don’t water down the brand. North Carolina wouldn’t stand for this—and neither...
Read moreDecided to try the chicken tenders since I was in the area and had a long drive home. I've had their fried chicken wings before (I spent a lot of time down south lol), but not the tenders.
Tenders = blah. I don't like their favor. I could anticipate the heartburn the minute I tasted it. My boyfriend tore them up, tho.
Bo's special sauce = good.
Biscuits = good. I would have liked some honey.
Mac and cheese = bad, really bad. It says oven baked, but don't get it twisted, this is not Black people Mac and cheese; somebody just threw a creamy Mac and cheese (think Wawa) in the oven with a slice of cheese on top. Chick fila's attempt tastes better.
Dirty rice = good.
Bo'Berry biscuits = delightful.
Peach cobbler = cute, but not great. It's a biscuit with peach topping and a little sweet swirl. It's nowhere near my grandma's, but I'm not really mad at it.
I would have liked an iced tea, but theirs only comes sweetened, so I got water.
Four and a half stars for service. Subtraction because I was asking for more things as I read the menu (I haven't been to a Bojangles in years, and apparently this one is new, so they should expect local customers to not know the menu yet, frfr), and at the last minute I saw the peach cobbler and asked for it. The girl at the window told me she had already sent my order to the kitchen, which was fine, but there was no one else in line, she could have asked if I'd like her to ring it up as a second order rather than telling me there's nothing she can do about it... HOWEVER!!! lol. Redemption and that's why I rounded it up to five stars, they threw one in that heavy bag for me. Lol....
