My family and I were on vacation( there was 17 of us in total) and we decided to eat at Brad's because it's what we do every time we travel to Pismo. Of course we all choose the patio because our 91 year old Grandmother does not care for booths. Tables were set but I noticed that the umbrellas did not give us much shade. Yes I know it's outside of course you will be out in the sun but looking around I saw a really nice shaded spot that would be great for all us to sit in. Everyone scattered to the shaded areas while the rest of us were dead in the sun. I don't do really well in the sun but I wasn't going to take away anyone else's spot. My poor Grandfather also sat in the sun and my Dad. Some of my family asked "Hey can't we go over there where it's better shaded?"(mind you we were the only ones there), but the manager said no. He seemed to have a hard time understanding why some of us wanted to move, the patio is not even that big he acts like it'll kill the waiters to walk what three steps? My 91 year old Grandmother was walking around Pismo just fine( also he was not the one serving us so why was he complaining?) Later they got our drinks and my Dad was fed up and told me we should move in the shade, so I did expecting the manager to pop out of no where. Lo and behold there he was complaining about us moving. Were there invisible people sitting there? There was still no other customers but us. We asked him what was the big deal about sitting in the shade on the EMPTY tables. He could not answers us, just kept complaining about us moving into the shade. I heard my Uncle say let's leave and I chimed in with him. Finally my family got up and started to leave and of course the guy was all "no you guys can sit there", but nope we were all ticked off by that point. Bottom line the manager was rude he didn't really want to give his name because he knew he was in trouble and by some of the reviews I've seen this isn't the first time he has done this. I'm sure the waiters and waitress were kind but we didn't stick around that long to find out. There are apparently two manager so I don't want to give them trouble but the man who was awful to us he knows who he is and of course the waiters know who he is, but I'm sure he will use his position to scare the poor kids to not sell him out.( One of the workers told us they tried to sit us in the shaded area but he refused to let them.) We will not be eating here again and I will not recommend this place to my friends or family, I do not want them to be embarrassed like that. My advice don't sit on patio and if the manager starts to give you trouble walk out of that restaurant and...
Read moreThis place is not friendly to the handicapped. They only had one handicapped parking spot in their parking lot and they keep their lot roped off to prevent anyone from using it. I arrived right at the same time a delivery truck did so I drove right into the handicapped parking spot and placed my placard hanging from my rear view mirror. We headed to the door that was marked ENTRANCE and the Owner of the restaurant started yelling at his employee for letting someone park in the handicapped spot. The employee didn’t explain the situation. As we walked in the door it was the back entrance and the staff told us we needed to go back outside and walk around to the front. They decided that was a bad idea so they sat us at a table and did not make use walk out around and back in. We dined enjoyed the food. Then when we left the parking lot was roped off. We were trapped in the parking lot. I asked one of the employees to please let us out. He walked inside the building I was assuming to get keys to the rope/gate. The owner comes out yelling at me as to why I was in his private parking lot. The owner assumed that I had driven through his gate. I showed him my placard and said the rope was not up when I drove into the lot. The whole interaction seemed as if he was ordered to have a Disabled Parking Spot and he is so angry about it that he literally gate keeps the spot. One of the worst times I’ve ever been treated poorly for being disabled. Lots of other better places to eat that are handicapped...
