I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I feel people should know about this place before booking a stay here. We arrived at 9:30pm because we got caught in bad traffic from LA. We booked 2 rooms for six of us - my sister and I, and 4 kids. We originally reserved the rooms through Expedia, but when we arrived, they charged us for the rooms onsite. When we went to check into our rooms, one of the rooms was fine, but the other room had a large, dinner plate sized dirty mark on the top of the bed cover and the room had a terrible smell. I couldn't imagine staying in that room all night. When I asked them if they could provide us with a different room they said they couldn't because they were completely full for the night. Then the man at the counter ran over to the room to check on it and came back mad, and denying that the room had a stained bed cover and smelled bad. I was shocked by his rudeness, and his denial of what we thought was a very obvious large dirty mark and strong smell. When I offered to show him a picture of the stain, he quickly said he would refund us the one room, but would not refund the other room. I told him there was no way we could fit the 6 of us in the one room, and that we were traveling together, so we had to find another place. The next thing I knew, the man at the desk and I were in some weird yelling match. I was shocked at how quickly it escalated. He yelled at me that he would only refund us the one room, and if we wanted the other room refunded we would have to contact Expedia. But, Expedia never charged us. Only Pismo Beach Walker charged us, so Expedia wasn't able to refund it. Also, the man at the counter made it look like he refunded us on Expedia for both rooms, so we were not able to leave a review on Expedia regarding the negative experience. He definitely charged us for the remaining room that we couldn't stay in due to our group size. We had to find another place to stay for the night. I understand that people are trying to make a living, and it's hard to not have all rooms rented for the night. So, I felt bad about requesting the refund. But, the quality of the one room was very bad, and should have been better prepared if they planned to rent it out for the night. We also booked the reservation for a party of 6, so I would expect that they be prepared to host all of us or none of us. Most significant about this situation was how quickly things escalated and the man's intense reaction to me identifying issues with the room. Wow - that was not the kind of customer service that makes anyone want to come back to this place. Lastly, the fact that he made the Expedia reservation appear as though he refunded us made it impossible to leave a negative review on the site, which felt very shady to me. I will reiterate - he retained the charge for the 1 room. If you want to stay at this place, the location is solid and allows for a nice walk to the beach. The one room would have been fine for a stay. It's simple, and meets a persons basic needs. But, the behavior of the man in charge the evening we were there was very shocking. If you book this location, you do so at your own risk.

Rooms are nice, but they have a problem with gnats. There all over the bathroom, and you can see the previously smashed one still.on the walls lol. Rooms are good sized good size lil fridge, microwave and coffee maker so not bad. Plus it's two blocks from the beach. It also has my favorite part a little lighted balcony that overlooks the sm pool and you can glimpse the ocean from it as well . Beautiful lil spot to enjoy one and catch a awesome sunset. The gnat are in the pictures so you can see them for yourself. I just kept the restroom door closed, ad when I went it there it was a safari gnat hunt laugh my gnats off. Sorry couldn't resist 😜

Very reasonable price. I stayed in a king. Clean room. Small fridge and microwave in spacious main room. Sink, cabinets, and table in an adjoining smaller room. Mine came with a small keurig with pods. Not directly on the beach but a very short walk. Also a short walk to restaurants. This would be a perfect vacation spot for a solo traveler or couple on a budget. Very pleasant stay. Cute shutters on windows. This could be a negative for sleeping late. It does let a little light in and there are no curtains. They have one dedicated EV charging spot if you need that.

#BeachwalkerReview

My husband decided to plan a last minute beach trip since we had to cancel our last one. We looked around for hotels that were available Friday - Monday. All other hotels were either completely booked or the prices were outrageous for even just one night.

I found Beach Walker Inn and they had one room left which was their Junior Suite. We had never stayed at this hotel before so we were nervous as we read the reviews on the way out of town. However, I did notice that most of the bad reviews were from 1+ years ago.

Our stay was wonderful and we enjoyed the whole weekend. We did have a little hiccup with our shower, but it was resolved quickly. The Junior Suite, offers a 5-jet shower and a large private jetted tub. Our first morning there, my husband, heaven forbid, had to use the tub. He texted management and they were at our door in less than 2 minutes. One of the handles needed to be replaced and they had their maintenance guy there asap while we went into town. We received a text that our shower was fixed and got to enjoy it for the rest of the weekend.

My husband and I are very picky about beds. When we saw that it was a spring bed, we were hesitant, but we had the best sleep of our lives. Those beds are comfy and we slept through the night which came as a shock to us the first morning. The blankets are thin, but that didn’t bother us. We had 3 on the bed and a heating unit above the bed which worked great!

We brought our 10 month old for the first time and it was great. The hotel is quiet and we couldn’t hear any other babies crying in other rooms. The walls are pretty solid. The room is very spacious in the Junior Suite. We had a pack-n-play and it fit perfectly. With our luggage all around, we still had room to open our stroller or wagon inside the room and get our son ready.

The location is everything. It’s on Dolliver and Stimson which is two blocks up and over from any place we wanted to go. We walked everywhere the entire weekend. Great places within walking distance from the hotel include the pier, all the stores on Pomeroy Ave, Old West Cinnamon Rolls, Beachin’ Biscuits, Cacti Coffee Roasters, Cracked Crab, and plenty more. There’s even a small park right past the Blue Seal Inn.

The parking is a little tight but management notified us about before we booked the room. Honestly, it wasn’t an issue for us and we own a 2023 GMC Sierra. We had it parked the whole weekend and only used it once on Sunday. There was plenty of parking available in the lot and the spots are a good size. The lot itself if just small.

The cleaning service was great. We had fresh towels and emptied trash cans every single day. So many hotels we’ve stayed at where you had to call and ask for them to even come to your room.

The only issue we had with our stay is that we would love it if there was some form of heating on the guest patio. They have 4 tables on the patios to relax at which we really enjoyed, but there are no heaters and it got chilly up there. Other than that, our stay was perfect and we’d definitely stay here again.

Management was nice and were prompt with anything we needed. I did see a review regarding a “creepy man” around the hotel. We met that man and he was also nice. I personally think creepy is a mean word to use. We believe he is the owner’s father and he didn’t seem to speak English so when we said good morning he didn’t really respond. However, he did smile at us and he’d wave to our son as he took his walks around the hotel every so often.

Any of the issues we saw in the reviews were not any that we had. Management wasn’t rude, our bedding was clean, the price of the room was reasonable, the room didn’t smell, we had a “privacy please” card for the door, plenty of garbage cans inside and outside. The reviews are outdated. Great stay...

This was my first time staying here we weren’t planning on staying in Pismo, but we decided because he got late and it was cold and I live four hours from here so we picked a spot when we went upstairs to our room. The door was already open. It was not even locked. I let the manager know and he dismissed my concern so we went inside put the heater on because I said it was very cold. We noticed that it was cold air coming out of the heater so we tried. We went to adjust the heater to make sure we had it on the right temperature and the air was coming out cold so we just turned it off and we had to sleep with a thin paper blanket that they provide it could not sleep all night because it was too cold I literally literally had to get up go to the restroom and use their blow dryer to get some kind of heat on my body Seriously that’s how cold it was. I’m not exaggerating. I let the management know my concern regarding the heater and they denied that it was broken they said that we didn’t have it on correctly. Excuse me, sir I know how to put a heater on, but they dismiss that as well. I feel that I could’ve slept in my car for free and probably be warmer than in that icebox, I will never return there again. The place is dirty and how they treat their guest is unacceptable. They could’ve at least brought us more blankets or something and they did not do any of that. I will not be...
