I would not recommend this place for vegetarians as their main vegetarian option, deep-fried cauliflower, seen in their Cauliflower Taco ($7 for one taco; $13 for two) and Cauliflower and Chips ($14), is virtually tasteless. It seemed like they forgot to season the cauliflower. If I ordered this at a restaurant, I would’ve sent it back but food truck rules are different so I didn’t. I appreciate the vegetarian option but it’s not worth it to serve something unacceptable: small, season-less fried cauliflowers. The Baja Fish Taco ($8) was a lot better than the Cauliflower taco but virtually had no filling at all. The fish size was probably less than 1 oz and thus seems like a waste of money to get next to no protein. If they put as much effort into their tacos as they do their hot dogs, my experience would have vastly improved. For instance, my dad got the Pismo Beach Dog ($16) which was loaded with goodies such as shrimp, bacon, and avocado. It looked and smelled divine— how the rest of their menu items should be!

First time here. I have my favorite place to eat when I’m in town but decided to try something different. I settled on Sunsets at Pismo because of the location on the pier and the view of the ocean. As. DF and GF person I figured I would get the hotdog which was still pretty pricey. It’s a hotdog with caramelized onions, shrimp bacon and a sauce. No idea what the sauce was but figured I would take the chance. I was enjoying the wait right up till the pigeons decided to come and walk around and under my table. I have a horrible phobia of birds. So I began yelling and moving the chairs to try to scare them. That didn’t work. They were not afraid. I waited for what felt like forever. The food that came out to the people near me looked good. Mine finally came out and looked really good. I took my first bit and realized it was cold. The onions were really not caramelized. I ended up eating the shrimp and bacon and a bite or two of the hotdog.

IF THIS WAS YOUR LAST MEAL…You wouldn’t be disappointed. The views are breathtaking, the staff warm, and the food comforting. You can’t really go wrong with the Panko macaroni balls and their heirloom dish that I hope is passed on to grandchild to grandchild, the treasure of this OCEANSIDE food truck, the notorious FISH and CHIPS. With a splash of lemon and a good beverage (local craft options Ice cold are available), you can rest from your present and persistent worries as the sun slowly melts like soft serve ice cream beneath the sea horizon. To kick the bucket here would be an honor and privilege. For the experience alone…come here. It’s a true celebration of the Great American story at Pismo Beach, and much needed reminder that this LAND WAS MADE FOR YOU AND ME.

Everything here was far beyond my expectations to say the least. I thought walking on a pier I would see a hot dog vendor and maybe a man with a push cart selling ice cream. What I found out was that Sunsets at Pismo was the first food vendor as you're walking up the pier and honestly might have been the only one because I had to look no further. I tried a little bit of a lot of items here as me and some friends were looking to hang out in Pismo somewhere nice, casual and with good vibes. First off we were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. They had various drinks including water, iced tea, beer etc. The menu is quite large for what I expected when I saw what equipment they were using to cook so that impressed me quite a bit. Okay to the food.... Shrimp tacos were epic and probably my favorite. The avocado crema was delicious and the shrimp was definitely fresh. The cabbage was very nice, fresh and crisp. I also had the pleasure of having their spicy chicken sandwich aka "the hot chick" Let me tell you that this was no joke. Make sure you have something to drink because it is SPICY. It had some sort of apricot spread on it as well and the brioche bun they used was just perfectly soaking up the Nashville hot sauce used. The cabbage again here was on point and add a pickle for the win. We had also a fish taco that I devoured in I believe two bites because I don't even remember chewing it. Not because it was small but because I inhaled it I guess from how good the fish used here was. Speaking of fish, the fish n chips we had also ordered were amazing. The beer batter used was excellent and really stuck to the fish not just flaked away like other places I had visited. The fries were thinner than I was used to which was awesome because they stayed crispy (along with the fish as well) long after they had been served. It was the last Item we ate and the portion was large with a nice tartar and cocktail sauce to accompany. Compliments to the Chef Jonathan for recommending this place and to my friend who...

Sunsets at Pismo in Pismo Beach deserves nothing less than a stellar five-star review based on my delightful experience. The service I received was exceptional, with the woman at the checkout embodying a level of friendliness that truly enhanced my visit. Her warmth and attentiveness set the tone for a memorable dining experience.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the shrimp taco. I decided to try this dish, and while it came with a warning about its spiciness, the flavor was outstanding. The careful balance of spices added a kick that heightened the overall taste without overwhelming the palate. I would highly recommend the shrimp taco to anyone who enjoys a flavorful and slightly spicy culinary adventure.

Beyond the delicious food, the ambiance at Sunsets at Pismo was delightful. The restaurant's name perfectly captures the experience – enjoying a meal with a view of the sun setting in Pismo Beach is truly something special. The atmosphere was relaxed, making it an ideal spot for a casual dinner or a special occasion.

I must also commend the overall efficiency and organization of the restaurant. Despite any potential busyness, the staff maintained a smooth flow of service, contributing to a positive and stress-free dining experience.

Looking ahead, I can't wait to return to Sunsets at Pismo. The combination of outstanding service, delectable cuisine, and a stunning beachside setting makes this restaurant a standout choice in Pismo Beach. If you're in the area and seeking a memorable dining experience, Sunsets at Pismo is a must-visit destination. I'm already anticipating my next meal at this wonderful...

Ladies and gents, we’ve found our new favorite local restaurant!! I’m so glad that this place opened - it’s so nice having something to stop and do on the pier that’s away from the the downtown scene. The overall atmosphere is casual, family friendly, and so welcoming/inviting.

Food: We tried the Sunset Fries (with pulled pork), the eloté, shrimp taco, fish taco, and kid’s Mac and cheese - let me tell you - EVERYTHING was sooooooo delicious! The meat and seafood were SO incredibly fresh and flavorful!! Literally every bite was heavenly - I could eat here literally every day.

Service: The service was also awesome! We were greeted/seated right as we walked up, and our server (Donnie, who I think is our new best friend lol) and busser were so genuinely kind and attentive. What also impressed me was how fast our food came out! It felt like it only took a few minutes for us to get everything we ordered, so that was another bonus.

Covid Precautions: Everyone wears a mask, and we could see the frequent and thorough sanitization of tables/chairs between guests. There’s also plenty of space and seating!

I don’t have these experiences often, but this was easily a 10/10 for us. We’re local so it’ll be a nice treat to stop in on the weekdays (although, even though we were here on a weekend there wasn’t actually a crowd that we had to deal with, so I wouldn’t mind coming back on the weekends).

I highly recommend this place!! Can’t beat the food, the service, and definitely can’t...
