The Macaron Bar is a delightful easy to find little place on Penn avenue. I had been waiting months for this place to open. When you enter the building is nice and bright with white walls and a pop of color from the macaroons and the fun colorful balloon bulbs on the ceiling. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the process and flavor components of the macarons. I opted to buy 12 macarons in the $25 box. They have every flavor imaginable but my favorites were the toasted coconut and pistachio with the chocolate strawberry or birthday cake a close 3rd. It's going on 4 days later and they have kept just "ok" in the refrigerator. I recommend eating as soon as you buy them because the texture starts 2 fade fast. The packaging allows for them to crack as well which takes away the fun of eating a macaron. They also sell the cookie shells (meringues) for $3 in dozen bags once they've been cracked. It's a steal for the flavor they contain.

Some of the best macarons in Pittsburgh. All hand made. Delicious flavors. They also offer macaron classes. We just took the beginner class and it was so much fun but we also learned a lot. Our instructor Kyle was amazing!! Highly recommend!

Learning to make Macarons was awesome. I learned a lot and had fun the entire time (and I've never really baked anything before). It's definitely something nice to do on a weekend or for a cute date. Do yourself a favor and take the class!

The macarons here are delicious and I loved the chocolate and coconut macarons. I would say this is an "every once in a while place," because each macaron (literally the size of a dollar coin,) is $2.50. if you get 6 macarons, it's $13. I understand the craft and the density of flavor per macaron, but with something like milkshake factory right across the street, it's kind of hard to justify those prices. I have a bad habit of scarfing down my food, but I made sure to eat each macaron with 2 smaller bites instead of one big one. I kept telling myself that each bite was over a dollar. The people that work here are extremely nice and friendly, but the prices won't make me a...

The macarons are absolutely amazing. I got the six pack for $17. I chose the flavors SnickerdoodleX2, Madagascar Vanilla, Salted Caramel, Fruity Cereal, and Birthday Cake. I’d say my favorite was between the Snickerdoodle and the Salted Caramel. These were all really good and I’d recommend to anyone. I was a bit sad by how expensive they were, but they were very good so I’d still get them. They are completely gluten free so that is nice for anyone with gluten allergies the kind lady serving me told me everything is gluten free down to the soap. I’d recommend coming here but be prepared for...
