This rating was a tough call, but has to do with their policy on tables with a larger number of people. We (my lady & her family) were there for her youngest son's birthday. We had two tables of 9 (total of 18) The food and service was superb! I had the chef's summer special of a 6 oz. filet & lobster tail. My lady had the chef's summer special of 6 oz. filet & shrimp. We shared a stuffed mushroom appetizer. The meals came with a starter (salad or soup), the entree, one side and dessert, which is great value for the price. (The rest of the menu is ala cart.) Everything was fine until the check came (nearly $850 for a table of 9). For larger parties (I believe 6 or more) they won't give the parties individual checks, although they will allow for two parties to split the check. There is also an automatic 20% tip added to the bill. I have no quams with the tip policy as I've seen large parties leave a minimal tip after waitstaff and his/her help bust their backsides. This clumsy policy on the check led to a 10 minute exercise to split the bill between 6 parties. All others in the party paid cash except me, while one party Zelle'd another party. After the others left, the waitress came over to count the money & the bill was short my portion of it. At this point, the waitress & I were exhausted. I decided to give the waitress my credit card (as I didn't have enoughcash to settle my share of the bill & keep the cash (nearly $700). I thought she was going to cry as she took my card. For me, I wouldn't book a large party at this restaurant where parties were going to split tabs. As result, I have two questions for the management of this restaurant. Is this policy worth the strife that is created by the individuals splitting the tab themselves at the end of an otherwise enjoyable evening? Is this policy worth the risk of having a customer robbed of a large amount of cash leaving the restaurant. The answers to both questions should be a resounding "No!" The solution is simple. Change the policy to for parties larger than X, checks will be split and a 20% gratuity will be added to each check. This solves the strife & safety issues...
Read moreLet me start by saying........the meal was excellent! The Service was.......not so excellent. We made it known, we were celebrating my wife's birthday (at the time of reservation and in response to the Hostess' question, If we were celebrating any special occasion, when being seated). The waiter (David) and his Assistant Waiter (Conner or Carter) were friendly to start. David acknowledged my wife's birthday and took our orders, promptly. My wife ordered a Lobster Tail, to accompany her entree. We were served our entrees promptly but this is where our experience goes South. Once our entrees were served, we did not see either of the wait staff, until long after our meals were eaten. Not once. If someone would have taken a moment to see how we were doing (or to even offer to refill our water), they would have been informed of the missing lobster tail......but.......we never got the chance to inquire about it. It was a good 10 minutes, AFTER we finished our meals, that David presented us with dessert menus. I informed him about the lack of service and the missing lobster tail. He asked if we would like to take the lobster tail home (which we did not. It was expected to be enjoyed during our meal). As you can guess.....this was not an inexpensive meal and there are certainly other fine dinning options available, to choose from. I have eaten here on several previous occasions and thoroughly enjoyed it. In all fairness......David had a large crowd at the adjoining table, which seemed to be taking the majority of his attention. However, we weren't even offered a simple apology. We will certainly be considering other options for our next special occasion...
Read moreFirst of all, food was good. This review has nothing to do with back of house standards. I want Start this off with something positive.
My critique of the business was with the manager on duty. We were conducting my family's rehearsal dinner. Atmosphere was awesome. Waiters seem on point. Even genuine.
I had a headache all day.. which eventually developed into a full blown migraine to the point It was hard to see and think. I was dizzy. The smell of the food ( tho fantastic) it was truly hurting because my senses were agitated due to the migraine.. I stepped outside, covered eyes from the sun...and sat down.. the manager wanted no parts of this.. lumping me in with the homeless on the side of the road. I don't mean to sound so blunt.. but I want to tell the story exactly how it happened.
He was quite annoyed with me sitting outside trying so hard to calm my head from the pain. My uncle told me this.. and if the cops came... I was to explain why I was sitting outside the restaurant.
In conclusion, maybe it did look bad for the restaurant.. I was a paying guest... where was the hospitality. Hell, even the humanity.
This wasn't a life of death situation. They are a great establishment. I think they needed to talk to me personally instead of beating around the bush. I was a paying customer that just needed some time outside to clear my mind. All I got was backlash and defamation to my character. So front of house failed in my opinion.
This isn't a review to tell you about experience.. or food quality. Just a little humanity was all i was...
