Lefty's Cheesesteaks, Burgers, & Wings-Ypsilanti — Restaurant in Pittsfield Charter Township

Update on 5/12/19: I met the owner and founder, Sam today. He’s an inspiration. It’s amazing how well the employees were doing their job when he is there.

The big news is the corned beef, not the cheese steak hoagies. I sampled the corned beef and it equals the best competitors in Ann Arbor and Chicago.

Too bad I ordered a cheesesteak hoagie. It was great for what it is. Next time I’m getting corned beef.

Best wishes to Sam and his team. Please open a Lefty’s near the Diag in Ann Arbor. It will be an instant gold mine.

When I walked in the door, nobody heard me for a few minutes because the tv was louder than the door bell. I had to find an employee. After I found someone, the service was great.

Not as good as the original Lefty’s in Livonia. As you can see in the picture I posted, the table top decals are peeling off and are dirty.

The Cheesesteak I would rate 4th or 5th place in Ann Arbor. The meat and the bread doesn’t have the quality to give it 5 stars.

Group of 4 from out of town. We all wish we'd have known that this is 100% a left wing business. We did not associate this with their name, but soon realized it only AFTER we had paid and sat down to wait for our food. On the wall, in the dining area, is a huge collage of the most liberal sports stars and celebrities you can imagine (see the Google pics). It became obvious Leftys wishes to wear their political position on their sleeve, but only AFTER you give them your money. The food was not great. The cheesesteak was small, plain, with a very small amount of cheese among the tasteless meat, no onions, no peppers, no mayo. More like ground meat, rather than sliced. Apparently this cheesesteak restaurant has no clue what a cheesesteak actually is. Very expensive for what you get, then to be blindsided by subjective politics makes this experience a no go. I came in to place an order to-go, the first thing I asked was how long would it be because I saw how busy they were. The woman at the counter said it would only be 10 mins. I asked because I had my 2 year old waiting in the car in front. I said ok 10 mins not bad. The 10 mins turned into 15, then 20 and it wasn’t until 35 mins later that I got my order. I understand they were busy but don’t tell a person 10 mins when u know it will be much longer than that. A few mins before I got my order I asked her do you know about how much longer it would be...she was a bit rude and annoyed of me it seemed. Don’t feel I didn’t anything wrong I just asked a question. I usually always go to lefty’s I love their food and service. However the women who helped me today was definitely not like how it always is in there. Probably just gonna find a different location to go to...
