love that sociology is in placerville now! this feels like a much bigger space than the folsom location — but it still brings the same charm and vibe as the OG! let’s jump right in:

SERVICE Camille and Tyler served us today, and really made our first visit to this location great. Tyler instantly greeted us when we walked in. Camille made our drinks and was so kind. great service from both of them in true sociology fashion!

DRINKS the cold brew old fashioned was phenomenal! excellent flavor and not too sweet. the kiddos got the iced chai and said it was a 10/10 (& they’re little chai connoisseurs)!

PARKING lots of parking in the adjacent lots as well as street parking!

VIBES always immaculate vibes at sociology. from the decor to the staff, sociology has a consistently chill vibe that just exudes happiness.

Nice atmosphere, kind staff, however the general service was overall underwhelming. We hadnt been given an option for a receipt, which was fairly odd. Then they had gotten our order wrong, giving us a hot coffee instead of an iced latte. What seemed really unprofessional to me was the fact that all of their glass cups were different sizes and shapes for our drinks, there weren’t any size options available which would’ve been fine if not for that. The ice took up about 80% of the room in my cup and overall this place prioritizes aesthetics over service quality. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt knowing they had just started, but if you plan on going in keep in mind their limited menu and only get to-go cups as they are all the same size. I will start by saying that this is an amazing location, and the building itself is beautiful. The staff were pretty friendly too. The only reason for the star rating is because of the pricing. I ordered a latte, to-go, with some Thai Tea syrup instead of a vanilla latte, like I normally get. For a 12oz. latte, it was $8.66, and was told that $8.66 was the "discounted" price because I paid in cash.

I don't even think I see this pricing at coffee shops in Midtown Sacramento.

Overall, beautiful space and friendly staff, but I don't think I'll be back. I wish them...
