Timmy's BROWN BAG — Restaurant in Placerville

For months I would stop and read the menu but just couldn’t bring myself to try one their “concoctions”. That was my loss. I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone trying several of their master pieces and have not been disappointed once. This place is like the Disney Epcot of sandwich shops. Ready for an American classic, the biscuits and gravy sandwich might be their simplest sandwich but I’m salivating right now just thinking about it. The gravy is top three I’ve ever had, if not the best. Ready for a trip south of the border, the enchiladas suizas sandwich might be my favorite so far (minus the sour cream). The addition of the chips might seem like something my kid would do, but don’t think this sandwich would be same without them. The salsa verde rivals anything I’ve had at any Mexican restaurant. Looking for something a little on the sweet side then give the honey walnut prawns a try, and continue down the Asian fusion path with the pot sticker cheese burger. I could go on but just know your trip around the culinary world doesn’t stop there. Don’t like to travel, no problem, the cheese burger will more than get the job done. Nestled in a cozy corner of the delightful town of Placerville, I stumbled upon the most charming food shack called Timmy’s Brown Bag. The young fellow manning the counter was incredibly polite and helpful. Let me tell you, they have an incredible variety of food options, and every single one sounded absolutely amazing!

Now, I must admit, I asked if they had any gluten-free options, but unfortunately, they didn't have any bread. However, the cook kindly suggested that they could lettuce wrap it for me instead. How awesome is that? I then inquired about their tacos, and to my absolute delight, they were made with corn tortillas! Can you believe it?

I didn't have to wait long before my buzzer went off, and another friendly staff member came out to deliver my brown bag. Talk about clever advertising with a name like Timmy's Brown Bag! And let me tell you, the moment I took a bite of that taco, I was in food heaven. The chicken was incredibly moist, and the flavors were out of this world. Plus, the price was absolutely fantastic, especially in this economy!

Me and my mother used to come here during the weekends and order burgers. They were some of the best damn burgers I ever had, which inspired me to make my own. But as of coming here March 10th, 2025. I ordered the burger in hopes of getting the amazing taste once again but was sadly disappointed when I found that the food tasted overly salted and pulled straight out of a frozen burger box and much more lettuce than I’ve ever seen on a sandwich. I was even more disappointed when standing at the window waiting for my mother to choose something when I overheard the grill attendant cussing and threatening to “Slap the shit” out of the window attendant who was extremely patient with us and very on point with his service.
