I hate to give this place 3 stars, but if you give the food five, and the service one, that's what you end up with. I hadn't been here in years, but was in the mood for something off my beaten path. First of all, if you haven't been here before, you might stand for a very long time. No one said hello when we walked in. There is no signage telling the customer what to do. We asked someone behind the counter if we just seated ourselves. They mumbled (without a smile) that we could order first, or come back to the counter. The seats bottoms are hard plastic. You can't really read the wall-mounted menu from half the seats, so we went back up and ordered - after we stood at the counter and waited (again) to be greeted. Eventually the salad came. Then 25 minutes later the pizza came, at which point I asked about the meatballs. He said they'd be "right out". After another 10 minutes the meatballs came out...not hot. On the bright side, the pizza was excellent: super crispy crust, toppings to the edge, cut in rectangles (like central-ohio style pizza). Salad was fine (its November, so it is what it is). Red sauce on meatballs was good, meatballs not full of filler, good size. I think I'd save this for a take-away experience, and call it a winner. Two other things I noticed: 1) there were no females working that could be seen from the order counter. 2) there is nothing metal, or glass. Everything is served on, or eaten with, or drank from paper or plastic and is disposed of...with one exception; the large pizza comes on a metal pan. Also - pizzas are 15" and 11" (and a mini). What happened to 16" and 12"? In it's defense, Eagles has been around a very long time, and it's one if the only remaining parts if what is left of the little old village when it was basically a feed store on RT 161. Good food. Just...
Read moreI've only reviewed twice ever, that I recall, and for 5 star services. I never do this but in this case is required!! Open until 10p we are here for business in Columbus and the only place open near our hotel. The dirty blonde small girl that takes orders tried to make me look petty by asking me to repeat myself & saying I have 1 minute to order before close.( Only because I tried to kindly ask for slice's knowing they'd want to leave and feeling for them that we are here at 9:45. Closing is at 10?) She replied with a stern No we don't sell slice's. Then my Fiancee ordered and I asked for a stromboli and she said No don't have that. I asked for chicken parm again no don't have that like I was asking for Thai food? I just said something to order hastily... If we did something wrong or came in a minute until 10 I would understand but it was 9:44 and we had no other options as we rushed here having no idea where any places are . .. I've never been treated so rudely for just asking to purchase food 15 minutes before the business closed. She was not the owner and I know because an owner would never treat paying guests like that. She continued to bully her staff and ignore us. This human is far too common today as being horribly selfish. I understand a bad day, having them my self but I still dig and treat people like humans. I love Columbus and my visits. Except...

You pull up and it’s got that vintage charm—feels like you just stepped into a mashup of a garage sale and Cracker Barrel. Floors are literally tilted—not joking. Adds character. Love that old-building energy. You don’t see that every day.
Now, the pizza… as usual, Half Hawaiian! ordered a cheese and Hawaiian half and half. Let’s talk about it.
First off—it’s got a crisp, no doubt. The edges? Fine. But the middle of the crust? That’s where it falls apart. Dense. Doughy. Feels like frozen premade dough, like the stuff you grab at Walmart. No chew, no air pockets, no real texture. It’s too thick, and you’re wishing it had some char or something to give it life.
Flavor? It’s just okay. The sauce isn’t bold, the cheese does the job, but nothing really jumps at you. Hawaiian? Same deal. I’m looking for contrast—sweet, savory, kick, something interesting. It just kind of blends into itself.
Now maybe I’ve had too many good pizzas lately, and my standards are stupid high—but this one? Doesn’t do it for me. It’s a local classic, sure. And honestly? I’d come back just for the vibe. But for the pizza?
6.0 out of 10. It’s not offensive. It’s not great. It’s what you expect from a small-town pizzeria still living in its glory days..
Maybe the subs are better? I’ll...
