Extremely Disappointed! Let me "preface" by saying that we have been to Bob's before and it was fantastic. Probably one of the best steaks I've had. Unfortunately this time around, it was a completely different experience.
We went last night for our 8 year Anniversary and it was definitely the worst experience I've had for a special occasion. We both ordered a filet and noticed that after 50 minutes of waiting the table of (6) that sat down next to us had already received their food. While the waitress came back to our table a few times and said the Kitchen was running behind, I couldn't help think to myself, (If they are really running behind, then why did this table of (6) get severed before us when they came in 15 minutes after we did) ??? Something didn't add up. Did the order get lost, was it misplaced or did they just decide to serve a table of (6) due to possibility a larger bill coming out of it, I dunno. Either way, its not acceptable.
Once the food arrived, my wives steak was cooked correctly (little to salty) but mine unfortunately was not. So here we go, she gets to sit and eat while I have to wait for my meal to be corrected. Mind you, we already had to wait 50 minutes and it was not busy when we arrived. During me waiting for the correction to my meal, the Manager came over while he did apologize, I felt that he couldn't have cared any less. I brought up the other table being served ahead of us, the time it took to get our order and my displeasure with how things were going thus far for our Anniversary Dinner. I mentioned he might want to check with his kitchen to see why this "snafu" occurred. My so-called corrected streak finally arrived, reheated from the oven (not acceptable) and was now charred, blackened and over cooked. WTF? I mean are you serious? When you pay this kind of price, that steak should have been remade. I refused the meal, we got a to go box and left. I'm sorry a desert doesn't make up for the mishap of night that Bob's present us.
I want to mention that when situations like this occur, the Manager on duty should have came back over and checked to see if my meal was made correctly, he didn't. When it was refused, he should have came back over to see what happened, he didn't. Before anyone says "well, maybe he was busy" He was standing 10 feet away talking with our waitress. So NO. That Manager should be ashamed at the level of service that not only he provided but his staff provided.
This really says to me, "We really don't care and don't want your business"
We will...
Read moreThere are many “5” star rated Steak restaurants, I chose Bob’s Chop and Steek House on Legacy Road. Over the past 20 plus years I’ve Entertained many customers because of the outstanding service, great stakes and pleasant atmosphere. Regretfully, I chose Bob’s steakhouse to celebrate my 80th birthday with my family and a couple customers (total 7 guest). Because of the nature of our reservation, I’d requested a small dining room as opposed to the main dining room. Cheryl points we experienced during our reservation, put a real damper on my celebration.
Allow me to identify what was experienced.
There was a large party of 10 to 12 guests in a table right next to us. They were very loud and had no consideration for anybody else in the room. We commented to our server it was a problem and she nor the manager made no effort to quiet the table down.
One of my guest ordered your “Prime Ribeye steak” which, as I understood didn’t taste like a Prime Ribeye as it was 59% fat, tuff and cold when placed in front of my customer.
My daughter had my Birthday Cake custom made for our celebration and after declining a request to take a dessert order, my daughter reminded our service there was a cake in the kitchen for our special occasion. It took approximately 15/20 minutes before sliced were delivered to our table.
Our guests or family were never asked if anyone would like a cup of coffee or Tea to enjoy with their Birthday Cake.
When we sat down , my wife mentioned to our server, she would appreciate receiving our bill at the end of our celebration….. our server handed it to a guest of ours (very embarrassing)
My 80th Birthday Celebration at Bob’s was a real disappointment and certainly not like any business or social experience I’ve had in the past...
Read moreI recently celebrated my birthday at Bob's Steakhouse, and while the overall experience had its highs and lows, I left with mixed feelings. Let me break it down.
First and foremost, the food itself was undoubtedly a highlight. I opted for the porterhouse, and it was cooked to perfection. The flavors were on point, and I genuinely enjoyed the dish.
However, the appetizer, fried calamari, took an unexpected turn. To my disappointment, I discovered a deep-fried piece of hair in it, which could have been rather unsettling had I not caught it in time. Fortunately, the restaurant promptly addressed the issue by comping the calamari off the bill—a response one would expect in such circumstances.
Moving on to the ambiance, my initial interaction with the hostess left much to be desired. Upon entering, there was a noticeable lack of greeting or welcome, which set a somewhat off-putting tone from the start. While the server did deliver a commendable performance, providing the level of service expected from a highly rated establishment, the initial impression could have been warmer.
Comparatively, I've had more satisfying experiences at other steakhouses in the Plano area, such as 3 Forks or Steve Fields. The service at these establishments tends to be consistently top-notch, and they have set a high bar for the level of hospitality one anticipates from a quality steakhouse.
In conclusion, while Bob's Steakhouse offers delicious food and satisfactory service, there are areas where improvement is needed, especially in terms of the initial customer welcome and attention to detail in food preparation. For a birthday celebration or a special night out, I might consider exploring other options in the Plano area that consistently deliver a more well-rounded...
