Although there were three hostesses (they all wore different colored shirts according to their job role so it was easy to tell who was who; hostesses wore hot pink shirts, waiters & waitresses wore blue shirts, etc.), the gal who was taking down names seemed to be very unorganized. She seemed to be the "head hostess" although she was all over the place & distracted. It was busy when we got there; we had to stand in line to put our names on the waiting list. I had to ask how long the wait was & if she was going to call us when a table was available because she gave no information after taking our name & phone number. We went for a walk & returned approximately 20-25 min. later. We waited outside as there was still time left in comparison to how much time she told us it would be before a table would be ready. However, we noticed that the people who were waiting inside when we got back from our walk had all gotten seated (people we knew arrived later than we did). Since there weren't any more people waiting inside, I told my husband we should go inside just so that the hostess would, at least, know that we were there. I had noticed earlier, while we were waiting in line, that she kept talking to one of the other hostesses & pointing to a certain lady who was waiting to be seated. I also noted that she kept looking at the other people waiting but did not look to see where they were on the wait list. I watched as she would direct one hostess to seat people as she kept looking back into the restaurant to see what tables were available. The other hostesses just stood around. Getting back to noticing all the people who were waiting inside (& now were seated when we got back from our walk, my husband finally agreed to go inside so we could "show our face." Sure enough, as soon as we walked in, it was obvious on the hostess' face that she recognized us & we got seated almost immediately! It should be noted that there was only one other family, with little kids, waiting outside with us. They FINALLY got seated when we were almost done with our meal (& I'm a very slow eater) at a table that was empty the entire time we were there!
The food was just okay; not the best, but also not the worst. Ground beef tacos come with just the meat inside it. At first, we thought it strange, but on the plate, there was also what looked like a little salad - lettuce with a little bit of tomatoes & cheese. We realized it must be the taco "fixin's." I guess they do that to show off that they give a decent amt. of meat in the taco. Anyway, the ground beef had ABSOLUTELY NO flavor - like they literally took a package of ground beef & cooked it without any seasonings. The rest of the food was, again, just okay, nothing to draw us to go back again.
Our waitress didn't give any help to questions on the menu; gave no information that was already known or stated on the menu. After serving us our food, I realized she had not given me all the food listed on the menu that the meal was supposed to come with. After taking some time to get back to us, I was able to ask her about it & she denied that anything was missing. I told her I didn't even get any beans or rice. She again told me I received the meal I had ordered but she would ask. Upon her return, again, after some time, she brought me the rest of my food! At least she apologized & said she was still new. If she had just communicated that, it would've been a little more understanding instead of initially trying to tell me I had gotten all my food.
Overall, if you're just looking for some mexican or tex-mex food in a place nearby (we were staying in the Marriott hotel, within a short walking distance), this place will, at least, meet your...
Read moreThe ambience inside was very cute. Drinks were good. Food 50/50. I ordered the sunset enchiladas and my DD #11 taco diner which both tasted like taco bell. On the other hand I tried a bite of the ribeye fajitas and Cocina changa that Hubby and Son ordered and were surprisingly delicious. I was confused at first since they kept oohing and ahhing meanwhile us ladies at the table were disappointed. 😆 I will try a different location next time as our waitress was less than friendly. She did have a trainee following her so maybe that's why she was off. My hubby asked her what they had for bdays for me and she said, um we don't really do anything, u can get flan or poss cake. She seemed upset that we even ask. I advised her I wld like the cake and assumed they didn't celebrate at this restaurant as she didn't say oh happy bday or anythg. 20 mins later a huge wait staff went over to a table with a celebratory song, dance and dessert. So Iam thinking ok, maybe we are good afterall. Another 30mins go by and another celebratory song upstairs and they had guests all around join in. We were well past done with our meal at this point and expecting a fun song but instead she brought the check. Lmbo. Luckily we also celebrated a cpl of days prior at Brasao across the street with much better treatment! As I sat at the table staring out the window all I cld wish 4 is that we were over there instead. A place that knows how to make u feel welcomed, not Mi Cocina Legacy which needs a lesson that money is green no matter who gives it to you. SADLY will never return to...
