My husband and I were walking around the plaza, waiting for our friends, when we came across this store. As an Arab, I have a strong appreciation for Turkish goods and authentic cultural items. When we saw something we liked, we don’t hesitate to buy it! From the moment I walked in, I had nothing but positive things to say about the colorful merchandise please check out the video I took. The store owner greeted us casually, and I told him I loved the store, not knowing where to begin. His response, however, was rude—he said, “How about you buy something?” That was unnecessary. I understand humor, but his tone and attitude made it clear he was not very pleasant. Later, my mother called me on FaceTime and fell in love with a $495 item. I tried to negotiate, knowing the same item costs only $40 in Turkey, and after factoring in shipping and labor, he was still making a profit. I didn’t feel good about the price, but I decided to move forward with the purchase. However, my experience with the transaction left me frustrated. I asked the owner twice if I would be paying with a card, and he assured me the amount I was told was final, without mentioning any tax. While I understand tax is usually added, the fact that he didn’t mention it at the time felt misleading. Also I specifically asked if the item would be shipped in a box to New York, and he confirmed, saying he had double bubble-wrapped it. But when I got to my car, I found that there was no box, just wrapping. This lack of attention to detail was disappointing. Because of these issues, I will not be returning to the store. I had planned to come back for a high-ticket item, but I’ve lost trust in...
Read moreWhat a fabulous store! The jewelry was spectacular and reasonably priced for such a high quality. There were many wonderful home goods that would make very unique hostess gifts, like small bowls, pot holders, and tea cups. The store also has many absolute show stoppers— gorgeous lamps, chandeliers, geodes, statues, and vessels that could create interest in a corner or serve as focal points for any room. The owners were extremely welcoming and engaging. Highly recommend stopping by.
PS pretty much everything is breakable or delicate in the entire store, so I was happy we didn’t have our 4-year old with us. I’d suggest leaving the kids at home so that you can walk...
Read moreBought a Ruby necklace and earrings along with a rug that ran just a little over $1,000. That night I wore the neclace, it bled a red dye on my neck that caused an allergic reaction. Real rubies don't bled red. Talked to them about a refund and they were reluctant and tried to convince me and my husband that the stones were oiled and were authentic. He rubbed them with a paper towel in front of us to show us, and after it also turned red with ink, he ran our card again for a refund.
Now let's hope this refund goes through! These guys are great salesmen and very charasmatic but have counterfit goods that they sell at top...
