Sunday, July 1, I had my complementary Minkyti Facial. The experience was better. The Aesthetician Ms. Sarah took her time with examining, and massaging my face. While the masks were penetrating she also massaged my arms, and hands, and shoulders. Personally, I enjoy medium pressure, and therefore didn’t think enough pressure was applied. I had asked if she could increase the pressure, which she did. In general the service was more fitting. If you are living/visiting the Plano area I recommend this place to pamper yourself, for not only is the customer service superb, but the owner Ms. Robin and her staff will do their upmost best to make their customers happy. Changed it from 1 to 3 stars

On Tuesday, May 29, 2018 Ms. Robin, the owner of The Woodhouse in Plano, contacted me to discuss the below mentioned issue.Ms. Robin made two attempts to get in contact with me, and I appreciate it. While conversing for over 30 minutes, she asked me to propose a solution. I proposed a complementary facial, she agreed and scheduled an appointment, however, with a different aesthetician. I hope this experience will be more pleasant than the previous.

Minkyti facial = The Woodhouse Signature Facial $195.00 A brief overview of the above mentioned facial, it is a luxury facial that consist of deep cleansing, masks, a back, face, neck, shoulders, arms, and hands massage(s). While each mask is penetrating you should receive a back, neck, and shoulder massage.

I have had this facial several times at The Woodhouse Day Spa for at the Greene in Beavercreek, Ohio. It was luxurious, and a wonderful experience every time. The aesthetician, Ms. Melissa, was beyond great. She managed to get me so relaxed, because after each mask application she would massage one or more of the areas mentioned above. While each mask is penetrating you should receive a back, neck, and shoulder massage.

At the Woodhouse in Plano however this so called luxurious facial wasn’t great nor luxurious. It started out okay however, my face was deeply cleansed, got a facial massage, and the masks were applied, but what can really go wrong with that?

The disappointment started after I had received the second mask, shorty after the application the aesthetican, Ms. Suk tried to massage my arms and hands, but was not successful, because instead of massaging these areas she just applied oil/lotion on them. I can do this myself at home. Further more, after each mask application Ms. Suk should have massaged the above mentioned areas (except arms), unfortunately this only happened during the penetration of the first mask. Then, after the seaweed mask application (which I believe was penetrating for approximately 15 minutes) instead of massaging me, she pushed the seaweed strips/pieces down on my face repeating this motion approximately every minute or so. The entire time I was tense instead of relaxed. Finally, this a 80 minute facial turned into a 70 minute facial. I was so disappointed. That when the friendly cashier/customer service asked about my experience I shared my concerns, unfortunately her only recourse was to apologize.

LONGER VERSION EXPLAINED I have been to various spa/massage business so this is not my first rodeo during COVID. I called ahead of time to ask about COVID precautionary measures as I wanted to make sure my elderly mother accompanying me was comfortable. I was told, people with multiple services will enjoy a relaxation room you can sit in and wait on your services to enjoy (I wish I asked more questions).

The atmosphere is REALLY nice and every one is EXTREMLY friendly and helpful. So that will not be an issue. Here are my cons:

We had 2 services and was given robes to change into as the locker room was not available to hold our stuff we had to carry our bags with us - not a big deal it's COVID but just know you will luge your stuff around with you.

The relaxation room was extremely AWKWARD! We were in there with both genders and many people who were in there regular clothes & so I assume they were in there for 1 service - it was uncomfortable for us.

The relaxation room did not look sanitized in between people moving around, so it made me wonder why we couldn't leave our clothes inside the locker room..... since no one was sanitizing between people moving around it didn't make any sense to me.

My massage wasn't worth the price you pay here, my facial was GREAT and she gave me a better massage than I actually got during my massage session.

I was quoted one price over the phone and told another when we checked out. Although I corrected her she seemed a bit apprehensive about honoring my quoted price over the phone

For the money you will spend here the staff is extremely friendly, but it also seems like everyone lingers after service for a tip. Which I'm not use to when I go to expensive spas because I normally tip at check out. Who wants to be pestered about digging around looking for money after "what's suppose to be a...

Other locations take Spa Week gift cards. I had a bunch piling up and thought I’d book time at this one even tho I hadn’t been to this location in a while.

I remember why I don’t come to this one. Not only do they not take the cards, they really didn’t care that it suddenly was a significant out of pocket expense. Seriously: $600 expensive. Horribly overpriced, especially for the quality.

The scalp massage was lovely, but I didn’t understand why I had to dress and leave instead of just having the massage part next. The experience became a series of shuffles from place to place instead of one longer experience with scalp massage and massage.

The body massage was pretty basic for supposedly being “tranquil hot stone”. I get such a better one at the other location. The facial was pretty salesy - “you need this, it’s an extra $40. And you need this product, too.” Kinda amateur hour for a spa. If I was coming in for a series of facials, we should talk about product. Or maybe there’s a “hey, I’ll write down a few things I’d recommend for you if you’re interested.” Instead I was escorted to the checkout counter so she could put the products at the cashier station for me. I still needed to change. So add in the hard sales tactic…

Never coming back. Not ever.

Not even an “oh, I’m sorry.” Just a “the information I gave you is correct, we’ve never even seen these before.” Like I was somehow making these things up.

Ok. Cool. Your information is indeed correct. And I will be sure to keep going to the Dallas one where they know what customer service and a great massage is.

And this is a warning to people who go, not an invitation to speak with you about making it right. You got your $600. I even tipped your therapists because they’re humans and trying to make a living - not because I enjoyed this experience $600 worth.

But you’ll never get another penny from me. The way your staff behaved that day was...
