One of the best Chuy experiences I have had, and I have been to several across many states. Tennessee, Indiana, Kentucky, Alabama, but this Texas location was the best experience. I came to dine here with my family on May 10, 2022. My family and I (party of 6) came for dinner and had the pleasure of being seated in Claire's section. She was a top notch server. The restaurant was filled when we went to eat, but the level of attention that Claire provided would make you think it was not busy at all. We had a tall order for any person, but Claire handled it perfectly. She made sure we had everything, kept checking on us regularly, even helped us with special orders because 2/3 of my family are vegetarian. She went to ask the cook to make fajita style veggie chimichuys. It might not seem like a big deal, but that is a HUGE deal to me for my mother and my grandmother. If the manager and or owner reads this, please thank Claire for us, as well as the cook who catered to our needs. I apologize I did not get the cooks name but he was cooking on May 10, 2022 for the dinner shift. We got two chimichuys (veggie fajita style) one with boom boom sauce and one without. The Veggie enchiladas with boom boom sauce, me and my bro-in-law eat chicken so we had the chicken burritos with Boom Boom sauce. And also an order of those delicious nachos. For drinks we had a few Mexican Martini. We also ordered some fresh grilled serano peppers chopped and stirred them into the martini! Let them marinate in the martini for a bit for a nice added spice to your drink. Definitely would return and hope to get Claire and that cook on staff!

Attached are images of my order / receipt. My order was made on 2021/07/04, 17:09. I made a To Go order in person at the bar counter: a drink and 2 custom enchilada plates which (eventually) came out as expected. My server was a young lady who was helpful. My server didn't know how to add the "Cut Cheese" item in their system so she called over the bartender, "TJ" to help. As part of the order, I asked for 4 extra cups of salsa; just before paying I noticed that ~$8 extra charge was added for these. When I asked about the extra charge, "TJ" told me that the charge is right; upon pointing out that customers at the restaurant get free refills to their salsa (and they get more than 1 cup right away), he told me that "different rules apply to them because they eat here". Irked, I asked for the salsas to be removed from my order and "TJ" asked me "So you only want free things?". I responded "Yes" to which he replied "we're not here to hand out freebies". The server removed the salsa charges while "TJ" told me "we'll give you your drink for free so you don't have to feel like didn't get any free stuff". I said I didn't ask for a free drink but he didn't pay attention, stepped away and a few moments later he put the paper cup in front of me, saying "Here's your free drink, sir." I guess the "sir" at the end was supposed to keep it a polite sentence, ignoring the snarkiness of it and the fact that I didn't ask for a free drink - I asked for something that all other customers get without asking and without being charged. I understand that To Go orders have some extra costs (packaging) and I'd be willing to pay for a reasonable charge for that. There's nothing reasonable about an $8 extra charge on basically 4 tablespoons of salsa. (To put it in context, each plate (2 beef enchiladas, rice, beans) costs about ~10.) Although I specifically asked for no utensils and no chips, they were placed in the bag (I took out the chips before leaving but didn't notice the plastic ware.) A few minutes later I asked my server if my drink was charged or not and asked her to charge for it (so it's on a separate receipt that I didn't keep). I guess I should be thankful for "TJ"-s attempt to house-train me - it's hard to imagine what could've happened if I got away with 4 cups of free salsa. After all, he had every right to kick my teeth out for being a paying customer and not smiling at being ripped off but he didn't. He did put me in my place, though, teaching me that I'm not wanted at Chuy's. I promise that I will remember this lesson and will never set foot inside another Chuy's for the rest of my life (neither will my money). Also, guess what I will say when a family member, a friend or my coworkers bring up the idea of going to Chuy's? I like food at Chuy's but it's not some kind of out-of-this-world great cuisine so I'm pretty sure we'll survive without it. (I hope it's clear from the above that my 1 star rating is not just because of "TJ" welcoming demeanor but also of Chuy's business practice of punishing customers.) Thank you for reading.

Went here for lunch on Wednesday with a friend and I was super impressed. The restaurant is a funky and fun mix of a 1950s diner and traditional Mexican food restaurant. The ceilings are covered in cool car parts and it is such an eye catching design--everywhere you look there is something new!! My friend and I were warmly greeted by our waitress and brought chips and salsa. OMG, their chips and salsa are so good, particularly the salsa! The salsa had just a hint of spice and I could not stop myself from eating it. It is like I knew I had food coming, but I did not care as the salsa and its deliciousness pulled me in. I flipped through the menu and could not decide between their ample selection of enchilada, tacos, salads, and special combos. With the suggestion of my friend I finally decided to get their chicka boom boom enchilada platter. The platter came with two enchiladas with pulled white chicken and a side of rice and beans. I opted for all beans instead of the rice--refried and charro beans. Everything was super delicious. I was a little mad at myself for eating so much chips and salsa because I really wanted to eat more of my entree. Thank God for to go boxes! I took my food home and it reheated so well. I will be eating on my leftovers for a few days.

A friend in Austin, Texas showed me this place. All I could think is, "I can't wait till they come to Dallas!" My prayers were answered a few years ago. I can vouch for both Plano stores, I have never had bad service nor bad food at either one. I really love the "Big as your face" fajita steak burrito, but instead of their menu sauces ask for boom boom sauce. If you like chicken just get the CickaChickaBoomBoom that the dish the sauce normally comes with. They give you complementary chips, salsa, and jalapeno ranch sauce. I can never decide which of those dips I like better, both of them are delicious. My friend from Austin moved to Indiana and there's one close to him, he says it's good there too. It's safe to say as a chain they are all probably good. Save room for dessert, because their Tres Leches is God's gift to cake.

My wife and I came on a Friday night for a date night after watching Christmas Lights. The place was packed, but we were immediately seated since it was just two of us. The chios and salsa were fantastic. I like their thin chips and their "salsa" is basically Pico de Gallo. It's just enough spicy without over empowering fhe flavor. I ordered the Chuy-changa. It was over fried, but it wasn't bad. The shell was super hard and not really edible. My wife ordered the Chile Relleno and it was extremely spicy. Normally, it's not spicy, but her food was too spicy for her. Peppers are peppers. We won't knock them for that. All in all, this place is excellent. If my Chuy-changa wasn't burnt/fried to a crisp, I would give this place five stars.

Listen. This place is adorable. The key here is to know what you're getting in to, it's Tex Mex. Straight forward, no ego, chill environment, easy menu exactly what you would expect. The food looked like it was going to be pretty basic but was flavorful and well cooked. The bartenders were friendly and fast. Pro tip when dining anywhere, service is always best at the bar top. Chicken fajitas were moist and flavorful. House made tortillas were great. Chips were Crispy and light, not salty or oily. The salsa was fresh. The texas tini is more of a novelty but I wasn't mad about it. Overall a great experience and crazy affordable. Don't forget to tip!
