I do not like leaving bad reviews. To me it is just reliving a bad experience you already paid for. But if I can stop someone from spending over two hundred dollars and leaving upset the way I did, then it is worth writing.
I have always believed that great service can make up for mediocre food. My friends and I had not been to Red Lobster in years, and after a surprisingly fun trip to Rainforest Café the week before, we wanted to keep our streak of revisiting iconic restaurants from the 1990s and 2000s. We went in with tempered expectations, but still with some hope.
When we arrived, the air conditioning in the lobby was not working. That was not a big deal since the dining room was cool enough. What was hard to ignore was that the restaurant was nearly empty at 7:45 on a Saturday night.
Our waitress showed clear disdain and indifference toward our entire table. We ordered cocktails and tried to enjoy the evening. Drinks took about twenty minutes to arrive and the famous biscuits never came. When we flagged her down, she told us they were out but would come eventually. Oddly, every other table seated after us had biscuits.
By 8:40 we still had no food. Our drinks were empty, our water glasses were empty, and our server was nowhere to be found. No upselling, no check-ins, no hospitality.
When the food finally arrived it was disappointing. We ordered the Create Your Ultimate Feast, a nearly fifty dollar entrée with lobster tail, shrimp, and a medium rare sirloin. The lobster was cold. The steak, instead of medium rare, was cooked to the point of rubber and it was also cold. Normally you would point this out and have it fixed, but that only works if your server checks on you. Ours never did.
All of this while the company is parading their new CEO around saying it’s “new and improved.” I can tell you, nothing has changed. The service was the worst I’ve ever had, and the food wasn’t any better. The new CEO has mad no changes and no interview on “The Morning Show” will convince me otherwise. All fluff no substance. That’s the Red Lobster way of doing business.
After spending a few hundred dollars on what should have been a simple night out, I can honestly say your money is better spent anywhere else. This location is one you should avoid and probably the...
Read moreTo begin with, I was a party of two on 7/10/25. The person I was with arrived before me and was seated when I got there. They informed me that behind them was a party of six and that group was actually served before we were. Not a good sign.
Our waiter was David. Last name must have been Copperfield because he was constantly disappearing! He was VERY SLOW and NOWHERE to be found. Because it was happy hour, I was able to order a $5 happy hour drink. It took forever to get this drink. We waited approximately 25 to 30 minutes before I was served my drink. And it took forever to even get water. The other party I was with kept flagging the waiter for service. The kid at another table kept saying he wished he could go to IHOP, (I felt his pain). It would be one thing if the restaurant was crowded, but it wasn't. Not at all! Once I did get my drink, it was delicious! It was the Tito Strawberry Lemonade. And not only was the bartender making fantastic drinks, she was also working as a waitress! Not a good sign.
The people sitting behind us got up and left because they had been waiting for so long. I ordered the Mariner's Seafood Boil. I thought they went to Nantucket to catch the lobster it took so long. I guess I was supposed to throw the snow crab legs on the floor and stomp on them to crack them open since it didn't come with any utensils to crack them with. I actually saw one of the people in the party of six with a pair of gloves and thought they brought them with them. After calling my daughter and telling her about my experience - knowing she went to Red Lobster in Los Angeles and ordered it there, she told me that it's supposed to come with a bib, plastic gloves, a small fork for the snow crab legs, and a cracker to crack the crab legs. I got NONE of that. I told her that as we were leaving I saw other people with gloves and realized that our waiter didn't give me any of the things I should have gotten with my meal. So when I say my service was horrible - that's an understatement. I actually brought the snow crab legs home to eat - as I have a cracker, bib, a small fork, and gloves at home to use.
The meal however was fantastic! I ordered it with the Cajun seasoning. I'm a big Red Lobster fan but I will NOT be going back to...
Read moreIt's okay wouldn't go there every day our server was very nice only think I notice for my experience of being the business for 35 years the employees hanging out in the front with the the hostess looks like there were too many Indians and no chief to be seated and my wife had a bad experience when she took our daughter to the bathroom one of your employees servers female what's on the phone having an argument with her boyfriend or husband expressing very foul language and when my wife asked her to keep it down that that was not professional in poor manners she gave my wife a nasty look so we reported it to the hostess don't know what happened afterwards in my experience in years in this business I would have fired her on the spot I believe the Red Lobster does not pay their employees to hang out in the bathroom have private conversations. I believe this is why one of the reasons why Red Lobster is has lost their respect as a good restaurant the management there needs to be very well supervised as well as the kitchen that didn't have ready what my son ordered so he had to order something else after waiting for 10 minutes waitress came to tell us that the cook did not have it I needed to wait an extra 15 minutes if I wanted it come on how can you not be ready it was 6:30 in the afternoon. It's really a shame Red Lobster was a very nice place to come have dinner but the staff itself it's giving poor service your management sucks. At first I came to dine at Red Lobster off of pines and university in Miami Florida I walked in there were seven Four Tops open open two booth and one family of eight in front of me and the host told me I had to wait 20min believe me she did not know what she was doing I couldn't figure out the seating arrangement on her tablet or whatever she was looking at . so I left and went to the fountain Red Lobster there I got seated right away. Regardless I have a very bad experience with my family having dinner at Red Lobster I believe I will never go back again trying to be honest and respectful let's just say that I did not get from Red Lobsters...
