i’ve brought my puppy here twice now, both times right as they opened. the first time was great, no problems, we had fun! this last time was a different story.
we arrived at 10:54am and upon walking in, we were greeted by the front desk girl who made a point to tell us they weren’t open to the public until 11am. i said that’s fine we can just hang out in the lobby. but then she took my info and had me swipe my card which starts the clock for us being there. i asked if since she had me pay if we could go in and she said “well i guess but technically i shouldn’t let you since we don’t open until 11” .. it was 10:56. i was fine waiting outside until she had me put my card down.. i brought my puppy in to the play area and went to the food area to sit and do some work. i only stayed in there for 10 minutes because half the time the employee wasn’t even paying attention to the dogs! the younger girl with curly hair was swapping the boarding dogs so the older blonde woman was the only staff member in the play area and she was standing there looking down at her phone the whole time. at one point a bigger dog was chasing after my puppy and grabbed onto her back as my dog was trying to run away and the employee was busy texting. the employees really shouldn’t be allowed to have their phones on them considering it’s usually one to two employees at a time and at minimum 15 dogs.
i decided to go into the play area while my sister stayed in the dining area to eat her $18(!!!) sandwich. while she was in there she overheard a different dog owner talking about my four month old german shepherd puppy and how her dog can “take it too far” and be aggressive and she was scared that my puppy was going to attack her dog, even though her dog had to be pulled away from other dogs multiple different times for growling and snarling at them. she was also freaking out when my puppy was playing with a smaller puppy and was “making her nervous”. just ridiculous. if you’re “nervous” then why are you sitting behind a glass in a completely different part of the building? the play area isn’t even easily accessible from the dining area so if something WERE to happen and the employees weren’t paying attention, there’s no way you would be able to get to your dog quick enough. there was also at one point a boarding dog that had to be removed from the play area because it was lunging at other dogs.
the concept and the idea of this place is nice, but in reality there are no screening processes to make sure people’s dogs are compatible with other dogs, the owners don’t seem to care about how their dogs are, and the staff seems to not either. i do like the young girl with curly hair, she’s very friendly and knows all of the dogs by name and pays attention to them but i think there needs to be more safeguards in place and introductory periods to make sure peoples dogs aren’t a risk. it’s really no different than taking your dog to an outdoor dog park, this one just costs $11 an hour (plus they ask...
Read moreHey there, I'm Oreo, also known as @doublestuffpup! I've gotta bark about Brew Park—it's pawsome! Mom started taking me there at 4 months old for playdates, energy burnouts, and hanging with older pack members to learn the social ropes.
Even though we live 20 miles away (a 30-min drive in good traffic), Mom and Dad got me a membership 'cause I love it so much. I swing by weekly, except when I'm under the weather. Playing with fur-iends is great, but the park rangers (the cool humans!) steal the show.
Sure, sometimes one of us pups might have an off day, but the park rangers are pros at helping our parents spot when we're overwhelmed. Mom's taken me home early a few times, no biggie—it happens. We just swing back another time.
Sometimes, when Mom and Dad are away, I crash at the Pet Retreat overnight. I get a cozy suite, play with other pups, and even have visits from my nearby aunties! Brew Park hosts awesome events—like painting sessions, Santa visits, breed nights, and birthday celebrations.
My ultimate day? Dropping by for daycare while Mom works at the restaurant. I play and chill with my buddies, munch on lunch, snooze in my suite, and check in on Mom. She says it's fab 'cause she can focus on work, grab coffee, eat, and peek at our playtime. ...though she told me she wishes they'd add Buddha bowls and Hop Wtr to the menu. 😉
Oh, and here's the scoop—when I'm at daycare or boarding, Mom gets daily pics of me in action! It's a blast 'cause she sees me having a paw-some time with my pals even when she doesn't stay to work there. Plus, they hand out report cards! Yup, just like school, but way more fun. Mom gets updates on how I did during the day—plays well with others, naptime pro, and all that. Some of the pics here are from my recent daycare adventures! 📸
If you've got a social pup, this place is a must! Bring 'em over and I'll greet them at the door. Let's play! 🐾
...oh and don't forget to register them before you come so they have a smooth...
Read moreUpdate: 01.2.23 Got all the info from the vet and registered online. Sent an email to confirm everything was in order before visiting since the website said missing vaccinations. Got a callback in about 30 minutes, and she confirmed everything was in order. Visited on 1.2.23. Plenty of parking, greeted by the front desk when we walked in. Rep. went over how to enter the dog park area and pointed out the bakery and restaurant area.
We entered the park area and 5-7 dogs when we got there and 1 staffer.Staffer came over said hello and asked what our dog's name.
Fairly big indoor area and within that area is a smaller gated area rough estimate about 15 x 90 for smaller dogs . We have a Doxie mix(20 lbs) and he mostly stayed in larger area . If we thought he needed a break, we would go into smaller area. More dogs arrived, and like any dog park, you have folks that disconnect and don't pay attention to what their dog is doing. At one point, there were about
