Yesterday, I went to Davanni's and ordered a garlic cheese bread and 2 solo pizzas. My brother ordered a chicken florentine. Our order was to go. While we were waiting, we noticed 2 newer employees being trained in. They were preparing orders, but they did not have any gloves on and they were touching the food. That was the first issue of concern. Anyhow, we were waiting for our orders. The garlic cheese bread was ready and was brought out to me. The young lady who delivered the food asked if there was anything else. I told her that I was waiting for 2 solo pizzas. She went over to the warming rack, and returned with my brother's order. Again she asked if there was anything else. Once again, I said I was waiting on my 2 pizzas. We waited some more and after about 6 or 7 minutes, 2 small boxes suddenly appeared on the warming rack. We waited a couple more minutes and nobody brought the food out to me, so I went behind the counter and double-checked to ensure that it was my order. After that, I took the pizzas on the counter. As I was reaching for a paper bag to place my order in, the woman who was training the new employees asked me if I needed anything. I replied, "No thank you, I have my order ready to now, since nobody brought the food out to me." Now my brother ordered some brownies with his pasta meal. When he got home, he found that the brownies were not with his order. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of service and lack of gloves, as we well as the employees not having checked the orders...especially after we paid for an item and it was missing. I never had any issues prior to this one, but I was concerned about the unprofessional behavior of ignoring a...
Read moreTo the owner: Or, you could simply put the actual measurements of your pizzas and sandwiches on the menu... you know, like in inches and stuff...
Always a favorite in the twin cities, had some family in town in the mood for pizza in the Plymouth area - there was only really one place to go - Davanni's... or so they were told. First, the menu deceptively leaves out the SIZE of the pizza's but instead lists how many pieces it is cut into and might serve. The sandwiches boast 'Half or Whole'. This tells the consumer NOTHING of the quantity they are getting for their hard-earned-dollars. Second, the pizza ordered was the 'Large', 'Five Meat', 'Deep-Dish' ($30); the sandwich - the 'Whole' Pastrami ($11.40), and two soda's ($2.75/Free Refills). Both items were called to retrieve 41 minutes after ordering... that, is a really, really long time to wait for a pizza and a sandwich. Maybe, deliver the sandwich first with a promise of a soon-to-follow pizza? The sandwich (measuring just under 5 inches) was divided by the two diners and was really 'gone' before it could be tasted - and the sense was that it was a tasty concoction - lacking enough ingredients and size to truly satisfy. The pizza (measuring just under 14 inches) had a very large 'grease' pool in the middle completely devoid of ANY meat. Instead, the '5 meats' were sporadically and clumsily tossed around the edges. Now, this pie appeared adequately prepared and the diners wolfed it down greedily as well they rightfully should, $30 and 41 minutes later. Over all they liked the taste a lot - as an onlooker and loyal customer to the chain, I KNEW what they were missing out on with both items. Total Cost: $48.99 Total...
Read moreWe went to Davanni's in Plymouth on Friday night December 3, 2021 about 6:30 pm. We ordered a medium pizza 1/2 Hawaiian Pizza and the other half the Works, Traditional crust along with two beers. The place was dead accept for a few takeout orders. The service was really good. The pizza was terrible the Hawaiian Pizza had very few pineapple and a couple Canadian bacon scattered here and there. It basically tasted like a regular pizza with Canadian bacon and a few pineapple on it. It has no pizazz like a Hawaiian Pizza usually does and was terrible. The side with the Works didn't taste like a traditional Divanni's Pizza and it lacks flavor and contents. The sauce usually had more zest to it was dull. Both sides lacked in cheese. However the can beer tasted like aluminum. We will not go back to this Divanni's. This place was completely empty on a Friday night at 6:30. Very unusual for...
