So, i have a major plumbing repair going on where I needed to cut out some of my basement floor to access underground pipe. I went to Home Depot since it was the day before the 4th of July at 9 PM and it was my only real option. The rental guys pulled out the walk behind concrete saw for me and i requested a 14" blade. They noticed a repair tag attached but assured me that it was just a damage blade guard and the machine would be "fine". When they started it, you could see the guard rubbing against the blade and shaft creating sparks, and aside from that the blade looked to be well worn. Reluctantly i took it. Got it home and the next day went to use it to cut through 4" concrete. The saw blade wore out after approx 20' of cutting (approximately 45 mins of work). Keep in mind i have used these before and was using it properly with water and taking my time cutting. Due to the fact that I had a plumber coming to make the repair the next day i chose to smash up the rest of the concrete with a sledge. Before bringing the machine back I decided to do a little research on concrete blades and found that the blade HD rented me was actually an asphalt blade - not for concrete. The blades should go for somewhere around 500 linear feet on average, depending on thickness and structure of the concrete, the rental went for 20 linear feet. I brought the machine back around 6 PM that day (21 hours of actual time in my possession) and explained to the guy at the desk what happened, not looking for a free ride. He immediately began insulting me, telling me that i probably didnt know what i was doing and that no one had ever "broken" the machine before. He also stated that I should have called immediately, and maybe i should have. However, I needed to get the job done and within the timeframe so an extra 2 hour trip to Home Depot to get a "new" blade wouldnt have worked for me. The rental person was extremely rude about the entire thing and continued to insult me for no apparent reason, questioning me several times on if i had cut through "rebarb". Not sure about you but i believe it is actually called rebar, no b at the end, but what do i know. That is my rant, I would not trust these guys or any of their rental tools. I have spent probably 10's of thousands of dollars at Home Depot over the years renovating houses and doing various projects. I wont say that i will never shop at HD again, but the Plymouth store will never get any more of...

We sought to have our kitchen tile floor replaced through Home Depot and agreed to the installation price back in October 2023. This was after we paid to have a professional from Home Depot come take measurements of the job. After waiting for all of the required materials to arrive at our home, we then were left to consistently call Home Depot's selected contractor just to schedule the actual installation. After numerous no-calls or outright denials to schedule the job due to a lack of laborers, we had to contact management at this store who were completely unaware of their subcontractors unavailability.
Once the installation date was finally scheduled for early January 2024, the subcontractor arrived at our home and after taking their own measurements (simply laying a level on the floor which still included the old tile and weathered subfloor) stated that the already agreed upon labor cost will have to DOUBLE along with our purchase of several additional pieces. When we told Home Depot that this increase is unacceptable and asked how this was missed during their measurements, we were told that their professional measurements were not reliable or extensive enough.
Our two options were then to pay double the installation price to have our floor installed (of which our entire kitchen had already been disassembled for installation) or cancel the job. No other compensation was offered except once pressed, Home Depot offered to take back the material stacked in our garage. When we elected to send the material back, we were informed that the delivery team would be out the following day. The next day involved a call from the driver who was completely uninformed about what material was to be picked up, and stated he was 20 minutes out - but no one ever arrived and no follow-up calls were made.
One week later, after several "guarantees" by store management that the pickup will be monitored and completed, we have been ignored for two more scheduled days with no follow-up calls or plan of action.
After this experience, I STRONGLY advise all potential customers to avoid any type of services offered by Home Depot as there is zero communication between the store and their selected contractors, no accountability, and absolutely no attempts to resolve any failures of performance by their company and...
Read moreThere are two people in the entire place that won't hang up on you when you call, after the 11th time, while on a job, needing a question answered. They are Gwen and Tracy, who have been there for years. Go anyplace else. Lock your trucks because it's like being at Ipanema Beach just waiting to get pickpocketed. More thefts from your trucks and cars than anywhere On Cape. I only use Home Depot if I absolutely must such as the customer doesn't know any better and they are only looking at prices of certain materials... which are made specifically for Home Depot, and thus, junk. The gutters and downspouts only for their own brand. Go ahead and try it. They screw us coming and going. Go to Mid-Cape, Botello Lumber or anywhere else. Nothing but awful experiences every time we deal with the sloppy system at Home Depot. Seriously, thank me later when you don't have all the issues.
Edit post corporate response.: As if you don't get 50-100 complaints daily and don't care a shred because the entire ordeal the moment we walk in and see the employees scurrying away from the customers, the cheapest quality products that are guaranteed to brake and need another costly replacement... the list is infinite. I understand that Home Depot sells stuff cheap and that's the problem. It's junk. The wood has always been trash too. Now it's even more costly and just as bad quality. If I thought corporate would help anything at all, or even could, sure I would love to assist in making it a better evolution for all... but it is clear as can be that every single contractor I work with, dreads this place in every way. Additional Note to Homeowners: As bad as Cape contractors can be, if they say to avoid Home Depot for any reason, please listen. We do...
